Be careful with this guy He owes me some work from 3 years ago; and a few other people have been ripped off by him. For $115 USD he eventually sent me 25 low res prints instead of what I paid for. He's banned from Furbid and probably Fureauction; lives in malaysia and is difficult to contact and has a real nasty attitude! EG

I have also dealt with him. Luckily in the end, I got my art, but it took him two years to complete it!!

Yes, he does have a very sour attitude, and does not enjoy drawing furry art anymore. I suggest that if anyone is after any sort of anthropomorphic art not to go to him. He's lost his enthusiasm for it.

If you want other more stylized stuff, he may be a little more enthusiastic about it, but again there's no telling if you'll get what you paid for. He is very difficult to contact and even more difficult to build a rapport with. I'd advise that unless you're fanatical about his stuff (which is admittedly very detailed and attractive) it's not worth the trouble to get it. There are a lot of other more personable artists out there.

From your comments in the linked post: May the fleas of a thousand syphilitic camels infest your armpits; if that's not too cruel for the fleas.

LOL....!! I've heard the saying before, but not for a looong time. Made me giggle.

I'm sorry though that you're having so much trouble with him. You're not the first person either. I've heard complaints from others. :(

I dunno if your insults and wishes of torture were nessecary, though.... art issues aside, a little much on your count. Perhaps calm, adult talking would have better handled the situation?

Well, I was hoping to commission something from him... now I dunno. He's extremely skilled, but it's a shame that I only found him immediately when he decided to mostly shun the fandom. :/

Whether or not the person themselves is not a good worker doesn't matter. If one doesn't like the way they work, or are not getting the work they paid for, they should be polite and concise, and if trouble continues, state that you will have to take legal action if the payment is not refunded or work not given (if the payment was large enough), and if not, count your losses, and don't commission that person again. It is INSANELY rude, and looks very incriminating on yourself if you speak in such a childish manner to another person, especially while doing buisness with them

I talk to him personaly at least once a week. Hes been VERY VERY busy and having issues that are personal and I wont divuldge, just talk to him in a professional and calm manner before stating this sort of "reaction" because I know this alone would prolly tick him off esp if youve not contacted him on his email or AIM etc first. He may be a harsh/blunt person but hey I would rather someone be honest to me than lie. I think perhaps you might be going about this the wrong way, esp when I know hes way backlogged and trying to finish stuff while supporting his family.

I bought a sketchbook from him and received it promptly, well-packaged and I had to sign for it.

I still don't think it was nessicary. That kind of conduct is very play-ground. Legal action can still be THREATENED. Most people won't think twice before being scared by a lawyer

I hear this so often with regards to people who don't deliver on trades/commissions. 'Oh, they have issues at home, they have a lot of work on blah blah' Thats FINE, I don't think most people would have an issue with that. We all have lives too, we all uderstand how it is. The issue isn't that people's real lives got in the way, its that the commissioner isn't kept informed on this. Im sure if a mail was sent to say 'such and such happened, im going to have to put your commission on the back burner for a while' or something, no one would have an issue and most people woudl understand.

Its when this info isn't given and people are just left hanging, wondering whats going on, that the problem arises.

And do you know how many people actually grow out of a "high school" mentality? Not many, the entire world is full of little kids in adult bodies. ;P

I have to disagree with that. It's like the whole "LAWSUITE!" ordeal. You can threaten all you want. You can say you're taking them to court, or whatever, but until they actually get official court documents stating as much, most people WON'T think twice... because they won't take it seriously. Though Moldred spent $115 on commissioning this guy, a lawsuit (ESPECIALLY international) would cost much more than that, and wouldn't be worth it by any means. So, no, that idea doesn't really work out too well.

Most people who know LG enough to be friends to him and come here and defend him would say that he is 1.) a very exquisite artist who puts a lot of honest hard work into his commissions, 2.) a very onry man with a lot of obligations to his family and work, and 3.) a very overworked person who needs a vacation (especially from the furry fandom).

All of this being said, I stll would not tell people not to commission LG. For the few people who have had problems with him there are many that have gained wonderful pieces of art from his work.

I have found artist's attitudes and wait times to vary. And I have worked with Loup on several occasions as we are both artists who are fond of each other's work. I will even go so far as to say that if we were matching piece for piece, I am the one who owes him art. But regardless. I am simply stating my opinion and my experience with the man. You have stated yours at length, now please allow others to voice their own.

I understand your anger, bitterness and frustration at the commission being dishonoured, as well as by some of Loupgarou's behaviour.

I'm not here to defend his actions in this case, everyone including Loup needs to be responsible for their own actions regardless of any reasons they may have.

However please understand he is not well, and his family situation is dire placing him in a pressure cooker environment that just makes things worse. I can't divulge much more than that without invading his privacy, even though I feel it would help people understand the situation better. Insulting him after the fact, despite the provocation is not necessary or helpful.

Yes I've seen him draw in person. He is pretty good. No, he isn't well and my honest opinion is that because of this he should NOT be offering large commissions if any at all. I wish I could be more specific, but respect for privacy stops me from doing so.

I'm not saying this is an excuse for his behaviour, just a reason. In your case, I'm sorry you did get ripped off, it was unfair. You have every right to be unhappy and to voice your grievances, but please refrain from name flinging. It might feel good in terms of anger release on your part but it doesn't actually help your case.
