This is a reminder for two things:

1. This community DOES allow reports of art theft. I had to delete comments on the previous entry because they were suggesting otherwise to the point where it came across as this was the entirely wrong community. Please be constructive in your comments rather than dismissive ("If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"). If you feel that the community should NOT accept reports of art theft, take it up with the mods in private. I don't want to have to turn this into policy-pollfest 2006.

2. Posts in this community are MODERATED. That means that a moderator looks at posts before they are posted publically. Ergo, if it makes it to the community where you can see it, it is NOT breaking any rules. Playing rule/community nazi on the OP is a waste of time for everyone involved. In short, don't do it.
If you feel that a post violates the rules in some way, contact a moderator through one of the email addresses listed on the community info page (alternately, you may choose to contact them all since it's not apparent which moderator approved the post in the first place).
The same thing applies to comments on posts. If something gets heated (or even if it doesn't) we may not have time to read through all of the comments. Reporting comments through email = good.

I will be posting my decision about the poll in my previous mod post (regarding self-warnings) some time this weekend. Thank you for voting and leaving your comments there.

Are you considering removing allowance for positive feedback?
Because personally I don't see a lot of it at all and I'm not going to join another community for a single post once every blue moon.

I don't think I'm going to disallow positive feedback, but I probably will add a link to the artist_recommend community (since we already have a link to art_theft up as well). I agree that there isn't much of it posted here OR there, and if anyone complains about it getting posted here we can just remind them again of the points made in this post.

I understand, and I don't think you were honestly TRYING to be mean/snippy/dismissive, but I know I would have felt kinda bad if someone had said that to me given the conditions I wrote above.

I totally respect your decision, and I'm sorry about being one of the ones to tell him about art_theft. I thought he would have a better time of getting the people responsbile prosecuted because he is hard core there.
As for the Please be constructive in your comments rather than dismissive ("If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all").
I know one member inparticular is almost always negative and never constructive with her comments and yet she always seems to be permitted to be like this.
If you are going to be strict about this sort of thing from now on, can we be ensured you will start taking a more iron hand about moderating including with her comments?

If you can please contact me privately (xazothia@gmail.com) with the name of that user and some of the comments you're talking about, I'd appreciate it. I can think of a couple people who come off as a little abrasive in this community, but nothing off the top of my head that I'd consider "not constructive". Thanks :)
