I am posting about a commission that was the result of winning a action on furbid. The artist name is Arphalia and the sum of money payed was $130.

Now before people start yelling "proof of stfu" here is what I have. I cant seem to recover my furbid user so I cant pull up the info on that end of the deal.

http://65.99.248.214/Stuff/arph/ pics of emails and money order scans.

I think I gave the person enough time. i know life throws us alot of curve balls but everything has its limits.

Edit: I have been sent a payment from her and we have reached a understanding. Seems also it sparked her to put more effort into catching up on things.

I am pleased with he quick response.

So...what, she just never finished your art? When was the last time you contacted her about it? She's been doing lots of pictures lately. Or maybe just posting old ones.

I'm sorry but... $130 for that? Just how big was the winning piece suppose to be?

She's really popular (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/arphalia). Popular artists charge whatever they want. 8D

Hey, her commission info says she's working on overdue ones, finishing what she can and refunding the rest... Maybe the OP should contact her via FA rather than by email? Since he didn't get any replies, maybe she just abandoned her old email and will be more responsive to FA notes. Here's hoping for a happy ending.

Also, unsolvedsuicide, 4000-some pageviews in two-odd years on FA doesn't scream popular to me, but maybe her fans know her better on a different site. I'll have to take your word for it, since I sure as hell don't pull in $130 for a one character piece. XD

This isn't really on topic, but it amazes me when people bitch about furry artists charging $100+ for an illustration. Even the most "popular" furry artists are undercharging. Out in the real world if you hire an illustrator to do up a piece, you're looking at anything between $200 - $1000+. And it'd have to be a pretty simple job for $200.

Pffft. I wouldn't pay that much for a Dark Nekogami, and he's very popular. There's just so much of my paycheck I can share to furry art :/ Food > Art :o

It was a furbid auction. No use complaining about the price if that price was set by the bidder.

And before the thought crosses anyone's mind -- just because an auction shoots to a price beyond normal, does not mean the bidder should have the right to expect more than was originally offered.

$130 is still less than she'd be getting for professional work from a company.
And by "professional" I mean people who are hired by professionals, they'd be paying 3, 400.

I've been living with devilfox for over a year now and I know for a fact that he's e-mailed her several times regarding the commission. All we're asking is an update or a refund, but it's as if she's ignoring all of the e-mails entirely and keeping her customers completely out of the loop. It isn't our mission to search high and low for her reasons of not finishing the commission she promised 4 years ago. At the very least, it's her responsibility to keep in contact with her customers, especially if we go out of our way to ask about the very thing we paid for UP FRONT.

The last time he e-mailed her was about a month ago, and Arphalia's last art upload was 6 days ago. How are we suppose to feel? If she would've set aside $10 a month since the auction, devilfox would've been refunded quite a while ago. I'm sorry, but I don't see how she has any excuse at this point.

I guess what I'm trying to say is...
We'd much rather hear her reasons directly from her mouth rather than listen to other people's assumptions. I don't mean a journal entry she's made for the general public. I mean an actual reply to us directly from her. "I'm sorry, I've been busy with RL" won't quite cut it anymore. It's been 4 years and we know she's active online and is obviously still drawing.

Devilfox wants what he paid for OR a full refund. Is that really so much to ask? This has gone on long enough, our patience is wearing thin, and I know for a fact that he's not the only customer who's had his e-mails ignored.

Personally, I think it's time you ask for your money back in full... Long past that time in fact. I know that it takes a long time to finish commissions when life has other things in store for you, I take a LONG time to finish commissions! But four years and all that's to show for it is a sketch is a little uncool if you ask me. I hope you get a REALLY badass picture, or your money back soon. =)

Try to get a refund. That's way too long to wait for a commission.

I'm not going to make excuses. I've been trying to get refunds back to people (and have been refunding them one by one) and I'm very sorry its been taking so long. You've every right to be upset.

Has your e-mail changed in that time? I think Devilfox might be placated if there was a mix up, and his last few e-mails have been going to a dead account.

Just a thought.

I think part of the mix up on my end was also that I had several people in my commissions list that had very close names as well as that the names appeared differently every so often that it all got very confusing. But eeeeh, I could add to the list of reasons but long and short of it is I f'd up and didn't keep notes well enough. I know I tried and I did my best but sometimes it doesn't work out how we'd like. I will say this for myself though, when I find I f'd up, I try and fix it asap. Considering the refund has already been sent and received I think I did okay. Prompted a much needed update as well so I think I'm much closer to being back on track.

Hey, and thank you for saying this. It means a whole lot and you didn't have to do it. And you're right it did spark me into throwing more effort into keeping people in contact. I think my art journal says pretty much everything, though I sent off a few emails already as well. But yeah, I said it in another reply above, but thank you.

Hi. Would it be a good idea to add an edit into this entry to inform people that it has been resolved? Sometimes people come into the community, just breeze through the entries and never make through the 50+ comments, and still think that it's an unresolved issue.

Cheers

Oh my.
I commissioned Arphalia quite some time ago, I think it was for $200.
She took a while but she did finish and ship it eventually with minimal poking.

I can ask a friend of mine who sees her IRL to poke her?
