WHAT: a traditional 'chara deluxe' couple badge listed in this journa http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3723719/ i paid half, $30, while my friend paid $30 as well for her half, totaling $60. they were connecting 'puzzle' badges, and the most i've gotten so far was a quick idea sketch for her to work from: http://i.imgur.com/2WHt5.png
we are both part of this commission, i am just posting on her behalf as well as mine, but if people would like her to post here, i'll ask her to do so, or for her to post with her side of the story, editing in her parts, etc, please let me know what would be best for a combined commission like this. afaik, i've had the most contact with glider about this, though.
WHEN: the badges were commissioned and paid for on august 4th.
PROOF/EXPLAIN:
when glider had been making journals about badge commissions, i was quick to ask if she took reserved slots, that if i could get one for my friend and i since it was a couple/friendship commission deal. she noted me back not too long after asking if i would like a slot, so i happily accepted and was placed on the list on august 4th. i provided her my information and after her having sent another reply with an idea for the badge that she had discussed with ange, i agreed and sent the money, the same day i posted on her journal letting her know i would tell ange to do the same. ange then sent her the money as well.
time went by as we anxiously waited for updates. from august 4th to august 14th she posted various journals explaining that she was getting things done for other people, so, great! i saw our statuses on the list had changed from blank to 'planned', so i was really excited and decided to give her all the time she needed. i figured with her work load of 3 other badges, that it would take more than a month or so.
4 months ago on october 4th, she posted a journal telling everyone that she was slowly working on the badges because she didn't want to rush. she hadn't been posting too much of personal art, so i assumed she must've been working on them slowly, as she said. i even commented on the journal, saying i knew how it was, with others who were also telling her good luck. this journal gave me slight hope that within weeks, i would get a note with pretty pictures of them done, and her telling me they would be mailed out soon. that never happened, unfortunately.
on january 11th i nudged her by sending a note, having expected.. some.. sort of response around the holidays. since school was a huge issue for her, i decided to not pester her around break time, knowing she also has work and must be exhausted, etc, but she must've had SOME free time to read her notes, right? the note remains unread, however.
it's understandable that classes get exhausting, and the holidays must've been busy, maybe? but right now i feel as if she took a hiatus from fa but never directly said so. so a lot of users, including me are apparently left in the dark with her last journal saying she'd get things done but shows no sign of it.
literally the day before i wrote this, i noticed someone posting an adoptable that was created by her, wondering if it was a custom she had just made, and maybe she was actually getting back to commissions, even though the note remains unread still so i noted them asking in hopes of getting some answers. apparently, it was just an old one they received from a resell that but they then proceeded to tell me her tumblr, which has posts that are extremely active, but the asks are off which basically means 'do not disturb' and i feel like.. it's awkward and unprofessional going through people in the first place. i shouldn't have to, i should be able to contact her without hassle.
i also i feel i am not supposed to know this tumblr at all even, it feels secretive and not associated with business in any way, and it feels even more so that someone had to give it to me- that i have to go through people that aren't even related to be told something that is not listed, which makes it feel more personal i guess. it is not mentioned anywhere on either of her fa accounts, and if it was, i would've been following it because i have 2 other tumblrs of hers followed, and this is not one of them, i would've known if it was. even if i wanted to contact her on it, asks are turned off so it would most likely be a fruitless endeavor if i were to try to contact her since she apparently doesn't want to be bothered.
after asking advice of if i should make a post, and having been told that i had legit reasoning for it, here it is- it's not so much as she's taking a long time, but it's that i can't contact her, and it's like she's avoiding her workload now by hiding away. this turned from 'lost contact' into 'she is completely ignoring commissions, i guess?? what do i do now???' and i would still love the art, of course, even though the con trip has been cancelled, but it would still be nice to have for the future. but if she hasn't done anything past a messy digital sketch, a refund would be fine too as i feel like lately she's had a hard time getting things done and maybe i would be better off getting a refund than possibly waiting even longer.
also: apologies if my post seems.. strange in a lot of parts? lj's coding is messing around both links and bolded areas so if there are a few letters missing or links are appearing smaller than they really are, that's why.

Date: 2013-02-07 07:23 am (UTC)I'm not sure having her askbox off is deliberate, though - I think when you create an account on Tumblr, receiving questions is automatically marked as 'off' and you have to turn them 'on' yourself. She could just have a new-ish account/not know how (or that she has to) do that, but if she's answered questions before and then turned them off then that's a different story.

Date: 2013-02-09 05:49 pm (UTC)now i don't believe glider to be a scammer in any right, but she definitely has a tendency to disappear suddenly after amassing a good amount of commissions. i happened to be one of several who had an outstanding commissions with her when she was still on her glider account, and though she eventually did refund me for the trouble and i got the sketches free out of it, that was only when she finally reemerged publicly as utusmi; my note pertaining to the commission went unread/ignored for a long time prior to that in the same way ali's was.
but at that time, there wasn't an active tumblr with daily posts and drawings being put up to prove that she wasn't actually too busy or inactive to respond to inquiries, just not acknowledging her furaffinity when she has several commissioners still waiting and wondering where she disappeared to after promising months ago that their art was being worked on, so i feel like this is decidedly more avoidant of her. being overwhelmed is no excuse for blatantly ignoring those she owes pictures too, and she could easily avoid trouble like this by treating these things a bit more professionally.
