Advice?

This is my first post here so forgive me if I am doing something incorrect.

I commissioned an artist back in late November (I don't intend for this to be a beware yet, so I won't get into details.) When January came I asked if I could have an update on the commission status. They told me they were finished with one piece and would be sending me it, but never got a link. I just recently went through their tumblr and found my piece, so I don't know if they forgot to send me it or what. In February I asked them again on how my commissions were going, but I haven't had a reply. I have sent them a note a few days ago inquiring about it again, but it is still unread despite that they have been recently adding pictures to their favorites today.


Am I being too pushy about this? It's been a few months and I don't mind the wait, I just want some verification that it is being worked on. I can't help feeling that I am intentionally being ignored.

I would continue to contact this person weekly, until I got a response. Finding the finished image on Tumblr would also really bother me, considering there was no personal update on the image.

Keep at it. Maybe they got you mixed up with someone else, if they posted it up on tumblr but insist yours isn't done yet.

No the artist told them it was completed ^^ They just never sent them a link and alter found it on tumblr.

You're definitely not out of line for asking about it, even if the wait's gonna be a little longer, the artist should just say so.
I suspect a lot of people get embarrassed when they take too long to finish commissions, and want their next reply to be the finished artwork instead of having to disappoint the customer. But of course the silence is way worse than "Sorry, not done yet". :/

I can understand the waiting off until it's done, I'm guilty of doing it a few times; but I've never held off answering for more than 2 days. They still haven't bothered to read the note, so it feels like my messages are being ignored rather than being replied to in a delayed fashion to compensate disappointment.
