Starfinder/Kannos Update

It has been brought to our attention that Starfinder/Kannos is attempting to petition themselves back onto Furaffinity. For those new or who don't remember, feel free to browse her tag for more information on her history. She was banned from Furaffinity for not finishing commissions for years and refusing to comply with admin requests.

This is a post to touch base with past commissioners and check to see if her statements that she owes no further work and is in the clear are true. This is not a post to attack her, be it here or on her inkbunny, and we will be taking action against people from here that we find commenting on her page after this post goes up.

So again, anyone who has commissioned Starfinder/Kannos, please let us know if she still owes you work. We will be taking the information we gain from this post to Furaffinity for them to review, good or bad. Links to past AB posts you have made or proof that she does indeed owe you would be more helpful than vague comments, thank you!

My thoughts exactly. She can have as many recent happy customers as she can manage, but I won't be convinced entirely until I know for sure everyone was paid their owed refund.

Seems like she's been a lot more ethical as of recent. I commissioned her a few months ago and got a few day turnaround. Very happy.

I even brought it up, probably two years ago now?, one of the times she was 'trying to make things right' and was asking for info on commissions she stills owed. I gave an email address T could be contacted at and she never bothered to contact Shar.

The cynical part of me can't help but think the only reason she's still not up to her old tricks is that she's no longer a teenager and can have legal action taken against her if she runs off with someone's money.

While I fully admit I only made the barest cursory glance at that IB journal, a lot of those happy clients seem like newly happy clients, you feel me?

The reason she was even banned from FA in the first place is because she ignored her backlog and didn't make good on art or refunds.

Positive (or even lukewarm) reviews are all well and good, but if they're not from the people who've been burned by her years back; they're really invalid to her application to get back onto FA and I hope the administration sees that.

And as a sidenote, she seems to be doing SO WELL for herself on IB, why oh why does she need to come back to FA where the staff will just keep a closer and more scrutinizing eye on her?

Yes, this is actually what we're looking for with this post. She has a lot of customers from the past who have posted here, so we're hoping to hear from them and others about whether or not she's given them what they're owed.

I am still awaiting either a refund or artwork.
She was one of the first people I commissioned in the fandom, and I was naive - I was very nice about giving her money up front, especially when I heard she had a financial emergency.

I have commissioned many many artists since then and fortunately had wonderful commission experiences, but it still saddens me that in the last few years she has refused to respond to any of my communications.

I am out just under $1000, and have no artwork to show for it.
Starfinder, if you're reading this: please consider doing something about it. This was on the order of NINE years ago, I think that's plenty of time to finish artwork.

I am happy to expound upon details as necessary. But, I can speak from personal experience, there ARE still outstanding refunds/artworks due. :(

I did pay around $150 for prints from her back in 2006 or so. I received neither the prints nor a refund. If she wants to contact me about a refund she's welcome to, but I've written off that money as a loss years ago. I do not expect to ever receive complete closure on this matter, but that's fine with me.

It does not scrub away peoples past experiences with her, or mean she can ignore older customers who are still waiting on their images or refunds. Doing good on Inkbunny means nothing if she cannot fix her PRIOR customers issues, and not deliver the art originally paid for.

I hope FA admins catch wind of this, and the fact shes deleting any negative prior-inkbunny comments of unhappy customers.

Good grief. Unfortunately it doesn't really surprise me, but at least confirms I still won't be giving her my business anytime soon or advocate for her unbanning on FA.

Mods if you happen to read this: She was banned for leaving all those commissioners in the dust, leaving them the same and having happier "new" commissioners doesn't change the reason you banned her since she still hasn't made good with those people. Blowing them off and calling it irrelevant because they made the mistake of paying her upfront back then (aka trusting her) still makes her a scammer.

I had some hope in my mind that Starfinder may have turned a new leaf and started checking out her stuff again. Sadly she doesn't realize that her past commissions that have been left unfulfilled means a great deal to her overall perception as an artist in the commission/free-lancing scene. Covering that up with comment deletion and edits only serves to lower expectations even more.

... why? The whole point of that journal of hers was to attempt to prove to FA staff she's changed and is supposedly a functional non-scamming commission artist now with her Pay-on-Completion method.

But amongst the circlejerk, someone called her out on a debt approaching a decade, and instead of publicaly going 'can we discuss this privately, I'd like to sort this out with you', she flips, deletes the comment and officially states the post is essentially buttpats only, from IB-only customers.

When she wants back on FA.

When people are WATCHING her for this very sort of behavior, which she has done many times in the past. On FA.

By that action alone, even if Utunu gets a half-response from Starfinder... damage is done in the eyes of many now. And giving her a chance is about as good of an idea as jumping in a pool with a plugged in desk lamp.

Pretty much this. The issue is she's trying to get evidence to prove she's trust worthy to get back on FA. The problem is that the "evidence" is severely biased in that ONLY positive IB  reviews are allowed to be shown. I believe the users here know that she was within her right to delete the note. And we hope it was resolved, however, how much better would she have looked if she had responded instead, resolved it and received positive testimonial from a near decade open case as REAL proof of reform?

If yelp worked this way no one would use it. Even the best artist have a ding in their history now and then. It's how you handle it in the public eye and grow from it that shows maturity. This is standard practice for star finder which has people crying foul. Tho I'll commend you for defending a user on your site it's coming of more white knight-ish which is rubbing many the wrong way. Testimonials are good and bad.

Yelp is yelp. I love it, too. :-) But I do not expect to see "bad" testimonials in a non-neutral location like this. I would expect the good and the bad on a site like WikiFur, which intends to convey all points of view. Indeed, it often veers a little strongly towards the bad in this kind of situation.

If I look up "testimonial", I see "a person's written or spoken statement extolling the virtue of some product", "a statement in support of a particular truth, fact, or claim" or "a written affirmation of another's character or worth". "A formal statement of truth or fact" is also in there, absolutely, and I'm well aware of it, but it's way down there as a secondary or tertiary usage.

This may be slightly offtopic but it sets off no small alarm bells for me that her collab sales are with Mondeis/Vaermina who just in the last year screwed over a good friend of mine on a $250 commission. Of course that person also has bewares in their past from others too, I just wish he'd come here to post about his awful experience. But regardless, it feels a lot like "like attracts like" in this case.

It's sad that after all this time she has yet to properly clean up her act. She's reconstructed her image but it's full of gaping cracks that's she tried filling with lies and her own immaturity.

I have a feeling, based on what's been seen here so far, that if she were to go back to FA things would fall apart very quickly. Running a dishonest business practice is going to do her more harm than good.

After all how is she going to work on the new clients if she's busy trying to hide the existence of the old clients that are still waiting.

She needs to accept that in life negative things will be said about her whether it has any grounds or not. She needs to realize that she can't keep running from it and has to learn to take the good and the bad in stride.
