EDIT (10/14/2013): Still no update or word from Kit, needing advice on what I should do?

EDIT (10/11/2013 10PM PST): Kit did not refund me the day I received those notes as she said (October 6 2013). She said she started the commission (http://i.imgur.com/48jewpc.png) she was also being rude, yet again, with the "don't you fret" I may be being a bit sensitive, but still. That note was the first time ever hearing that she started my commission. At this point in time I have not seen the actual "sketch". I replied to the note saying that I never saw it and she said it was not her fault she didn't show each individual customer (http://i.imgur.com/cbZDQ5w.png). So I have no art, and no money at this point in time.

I have done business with Kit countless times, everything went smoothly except this recent time where I had commissioned her for adoptables.

EXPLAIN: Last October I commissioned Kit for custom adoptables. She noted me asking if I wanted her to make a few and then pick from them (http://i.imgur.com/zcadNsz.png), it all equaled up to be $8 which I paid the next day (http://i.imgur.com/RNb5ALe.png). The notes were a bit informal since we were good acquaintances. At first she offered to set up a stream and do them, but I continually couldn't make it whether it be with school or just being busy, I felt bad, but told her to do them anyways.

She was extremely nice and I couldn't wait (http://i.imgur.com/3N37wfC.png). Fast forward to December with no updates prior other than payment, she notes me saying she'll be getting to them next (http://i.imgur.com/LKIekVq.png). I honestly was ridiculously patient, I didn't mind. I am not the kind of person to pester other people about owed art so I didn't bug her, however, February rolls around with no updates so I note her (http://i.imgur.com/fckJB0g.png), poking her for a little update. I didn't expect the art to be done but just a little reassurance that she didn't forget would be nice.

So... now it's April with absolutely no updates from the last note I received. At this point in time I was saving up to move. I had asked her for a refund (http://i.imgur.com/saVbAZ1.png) and she replies saying her car was broken and she needed to move soon, and that her USBs were still broken. She said it would be easier if I just waited for the art. She also kind of made me feel bad for not keeping up with her journal updates. This struck me as a bit odd, but oh well. I felt a bit biffed at this point, because either option didn't seem likely, especially waiting for the art. I replied saying I was saving up to move and needed every dime I could get, she did not read this note however (http://i.imgur.com/NT2w8M6.png)

It's now September with no updates or any reply/regard to the last note I sent to her. I note her again, asking for my refund (http://i.imgur.com/e4QTHZN.png) in which she replies saying she already sent it? Which she didn't. I completely honestly didn't understand this note at all, but I understood she was making adopts and was going to make a nice chunk of money, and would refund me (http://i.imgur.com/CRKGktY.png) the other stuff, I really do not know. I replied with my paypal address and waited.

It's now one month later and no adoptables have been made, so I note her asking again (http://i.imgur.com/24ir04d.png). This part just, rubs me the wrong way. She replies in three notes, snarkily, saying she cannot afford it but will send me $1-2 every week, since it's bugging me "so" much, just so the annoying incessant notes stop (http://i.imgur.com/uvenQ6m.png). Honestly, I 'bugged' her every two-three months, this part just made me incredibly angry.

The second note, she's guilting me saying OTHER people are being more patient than I am, and that she is thankful for it. She is also making me feel bad for asking for my $8 back, making it sound like it's more trouble to give it to me (http://i.imgur.com/jSnmWTo.png). Also that real life is much more important, but since I could REALLY use the money she would be "going out of her way" to give it to me so I stop complaining. She also says she did the art, which she DIDN'T, and that I "changed my mind". I changed my mind, yes, six months later because there were no updates other than "I'll get to its".

Nowhere was I rude in my notes asking for updates or refunds. She went out of her way to be condescending to me, making me feel like I was burdening her with my request. Comparing me to her "other patient customers" and that my money must be really "troubling" me.

This was completely uncalled for, I honestly didn't mind waiting, but the rudeness that followed was just too much to bite my tongue on. She seemed nice, and I enjoyed her art, but this left a terribly bad taste in my mouth.

It really is, she could just refund the $8. It's not much and if she's already bailing on this small amount of money I fear what will happen if she starts doing it to higher paid commissions.

She said she would refund me that night and I still have no refund. She also said she did the commission but it wasn't her fault that she didn't show anybody. She also kept bringing up the commission she said she finished without adding any proof.

Her behavior is uncalled for, life happens, shit happens... if you're drawing for money life and shit are not reasons to rip someone off then try to guilt them or condescend them for your mistake.

Exactly, life does happen but don't make me feel bad because you took on commissions you didn't do and can no longer refund. I never spend my money I make on commissions unless my end of the deal is met, regardless of how much money it is. :I

I moved cross-country on short notice andnexperienced a parent passing away and I was still able to inform the people who've commissioned me as to what was up (even someone whose been insanely patient on a refund as well). Really, there's no excuse. As you said, $8 or $800, it makes no difference. I hope you get your money back. Beware well noted, regardless.

I actually won a kiriban from Kit a while back (last year sometime?) and she forgot about it twice and I gave her my refs again both times. I gave up with trying to get an image from her after she posted some sort of journal about leaving.. or a hiatus, I don't really remember it was such a long time ago.

Hey there rueq, sorry about that but when my kiriban happened I had an issue to where all of my notes were deleted. Shortly after I made a poll asking for anyone I owed art to step forward so that I could make sure everyone was taken care of. There was 1 sketch I couldn't account for so perhaps this was indeed for you. If you happen to have the notes explaining or link that shows you sent me the refs can you screenshot it and note it to me. There was a lot of confusion when that happened. I'd be more than happy to finish said kiriban. I apologize for the wait and confusion.

To be fair, sometimes life does screw you over so that you have to live every paycheck from hand to mouth... however if the artist is in this situation, I would imagine they'd understand the importance of 8$ could have and stop snarking about it.

What is this "PayPal charges $5 for every transaction I make so I will have to come up with triple the money" stuff? I've never heard of that kind of charge and if that's the case it would be smarter to put aside a few bucks every week and send it all in one transaction anyway.

I am seriously unsure. It has nothing to do with PayPal charging her $5. I think it's just more guilting. Yeah like you said, putting aside a few dollars works too. Or just doing the adoptables. Again I do not care about the money as much as I care about not being treated poorly.

Maybe these (https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees)? Yes, sellers are supposed to take that into account when pricing things to begin with (I think it's automatically taken out of each transaction, you can't tally it up and pay Paypal later). If I'm understanding that link correctly, for Paypal to be taking $5 on a transaction she'd need to be selling something that's around $170. On an $8 item, we're talking like...fifty cents, more or less.

Have you tried contacting her on Furcadia? May have to search her alts though, I haven't been on there since forever so she may of changed mains. Her main was Kit (Pretty sure anyway) back in the day.

She owes me art, too. I purchased an adoptable from her, and she guilt-tripped me into giving it back, at which point she agreed that she would draw something to make up for the loss. She never did, and removed me on Skype. She also owes me a commission, I believe.

She is now going back on giving me a refund, defending it by saying "she is allowed to get things done in a timely manner". So honestly I have no idea what to do. I'll talk to her about it some more and see if we can reach a resolution but otherwise I'm just going to write a new A_B post regarding an update on the situation.

There's no reason why she is allowed to get away with treating people so badly.

You should dig up proof and submit something because if you commissioned her you shouldn't be treated badly or go without what you paid for. :I

Hey there casper! I noted you recently but I want to respond here as well. I just want to clarify that I do not owe you any artwork. If you have any screenshots of said transaction then please feel free to present them so we can fix this issue and put it behind us. As far as the design you gave me you offered to give it back knowing that I indeed liked the design for something else, We never had issues up until this point. I have not deleted or removed you from skype. In fact I see you're on my skype as we speak.

Hey Yupik, I want to apologize for all the confusion and situation as a whole. Its safe to say there is a lot of personal issues that are attached to this situation. Which makes the situation complicated to begin with. My judgement and behavior to the situation was also clouded because of the personal issues that were involved. I'm not going to get into details because that would be unnecessary in resolving this. I just want to say that communication was an issue on both sides. This does not justify my attitude and how I treated you but I would like you to understand that over the last year a lot has went on. When the personal issue happened I lost my paypal (due to a split up). When I told you I refunded you I thought I did but because I didnt have a credit card linked to my paypal it would only let me receive payments, In which case means I could not send payments out. Despite having the money to do so. (I sold adoptables specifically to refund you!) The only reason I offered the 1-2$ at a time was because I saw you really wanted the refund. Which I understand you're entitled to. The only way to get the money to you was to have my brother put it on their account and he needed to use some card to do so which charged them 5$ each time. I don't remember the name specifically but I believe it might have been greendot. Otherwise I would have waited to get the payment in full. I just wanted to pay you back as quickly as possible. Over the last year I've had issues get in the way. From my laptop issues to my car, even to my dA being hacked. I realize thats no excuse but I was doing my best to refund you as soon as possible. Due to the current circumstances at the time It just wasn't possible. I however did add a card to my account the other day and sent the payment as soon as it got linked properly. As I said I would.


Again I apologize for letting personal issues get between the situation all together. It was unnecessary for me to treat you that way despite the circumstances. I have refunded you in full and as I told you will send you the designs regardless for the hassle. I'm sorry to the community for not responding sooner, RL life has stopped me from seeing this and replying. I hope this clears up any confusion there might be.

I'm glad we reached an ultimatum. Your personal drama outside of the problem we both had didn't need to become mine, but it's been resolved so these are just words now.

I would have been more understanding with the PayPal issues had you been straightforward with me and not talk down to me or say those things you did. That, overall, is what made me post this. Not so much the waiting.

I accept your apology, and thank you for the refund. You don't have to give me anything else.
