Beware - Silverdeni: Update

As an update to this post.

Still no word from her since August 20th. After seeing her active on FA and Deviantart I sent her a note. (NOTE: I realise that I wrote 7 months instead of 4 months, that's my mistake! The second most recent was 7 months ago and I missed the other while scanning my inbox.)

That was 5 days ago. She has been active since I noted her as shown above. As can be seen here, it has still not even been read.

All in all - huge beware. Personally I say absolutely avoid unless you're happy with completely unreliable and frustrating communication.

This long of a delay for a quick tweak on an image? Even with life problems that's ridiculous!

Would it be wrong to alter the commission yourself? You did pay for it, and have definitely tried and tried to get the revision done/ask for permission-but constantly received no response :/

OP editing the piece would be a bad move. Still gotta respect the artist's copyright.

That pisses me off because they're begging for a response and being ignored but if they alter the art they're not respecting the artist's copyright.

I so am for respecting the artists copyright but I'm so angry the artist just wont' respond to them. :/

I feel the exact same way about the lack of response. It's just still opening another can of worms entirely to edit the work without permission, though. IMO not worth extra hassle and headache.

Oh so true, they could throw a fit and make so much drama against the OP if they wanted too. Not worth it at all even if they're being useless.

Yup that's where I stand. I refuse to edit it without permission because I know that would violate the copyright, but she's actively ignoring my request for permission to do so and save her the time.

At this point all I could do further would be to post what I wrote in the note on her page as a shout but I feel like that would be in bad taste. (..!) The whole thing has left such a sour taste that I'm probably just going to write the image off and forget about it. :x

Oh I know, I was just basically saying I wish there was a way that OP could ya'know? It's a tricky situation, but with the update it looks like OP has permission to edit now, and everything is resolved.

I don't understand... they ignore you even offering to fix the mistakes yourself without a refund/compensation.

Why? I mean they could easily just fix it and move on but YOU offered to just do it yourself with permission.

Ugh, such a good artist but they seem to be such a pain in the ass.

I'm very sorry you didn't get your art. :( I also was cheated (for the first time) by the artist (another one, not Silverdeni) in 2012. She promised me to return money, than says she has none, now she doesn't reply to me.

Sorry to say this but I knew this would be coming from her sooner or later. I've seen her come online to skype a few times so she is avoiding you it seems like. Anyway, I had a similar issue with her when it came to commissions. I had ordered a reference sheet from her in about April of 2013 and I didn't get my commission until roughly November of 2013. What urked me the most about this is that she was doing everyone else's pics, other commissions and such but was annoyingly of all was that she was constantly making pics for her bf Mushy or whatever his name is. I understand she can draw what she wants and such but when she makes so many pics for her bf with so many commissions on hold, it's just rude in my opinion. All I can say is that I'm glad there is at least a beware out on her. I had to threaten her with an AB post after roughly 7 months of waiting just to get my commission done. I will say that she is an excellent artist that has lots of potential and talent but she has extremely poor business skills. Do not get stuff from her unless you are ok with waits and absolutely are a hard core fan of her art.

I actually commissioned her last year and paid her immediately, as soon as I paid her, I stopped receiving responses to my notes. A year went by, with me still noting her for check-ups, and I eventually asked her for a refund. I knew if I hadn't, she probably would have never done the commission or would have done a quick, 5-minute "meh" picture. Sorry this happened to you.

I've been waiting two years on an update from a WIP sketch, and another year with no updates at all. At best I get sporadic communication with some unrelated remark about her relationship, and that's if I get anything at all. Very frustrating.
