WHO: HotCoffee

WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/hotcoffee/

WHAT: Fursuit partial http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t41/twizler_skunk/13483379400-1400345573_zps74a23902.jpg
WHEN: Payed for it may 30, received it in the mail June 17
PROOF: http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t41/twizler_skunk/bill_zpse29778bf.jpg

EXPLAIN: Item arrived in the mail damaged and missing the feet, I immediately took photos of the damage, and of the box/ shipping material. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13749919/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13749944/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13750022/ . Instead of rejecting it and asking you to re-include it since you likely just forgot, I'm going to link to the Youtube video showing unboxing the head that you'd originally included in your post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdRmTEVhOZI

I followed this over on another community and her entire attitude about the affair was awful.
Constant excuses on why it was not her fault it broke, when it clearly was.

I'm sorry this happened to you, it could have been easily avoided on her end with proper packaging care. It would have taken, what? Maybe 5 minutes to wrap that beak up and shove something stuff on the sides?

Beware warranted for attitude alone.

Her behavior was awful watching live. I'm glad you posted this here.
She didn't pack it correctly not did she offer you insurance/insure the package. That is on the seller.

I'd also like to point out that before even receiving the item back she started trying to sell it with the same old/undamaged photo she originally sold it with.

Seeing her trying to scam others with the same item after you won your paypal claim is... unsettling.

That's the same one I linked where she's trying to sell the broken head with unbroken pictures.

Hopefully she realizes raffles are illegal and against FA's rules. Assuming she goes that route and doesn't sell it outright.

Besides from "raffles" being against FA rules, the mask is broken. She's not even advertising that it's broken.

She deleted my (polite) remark about packing and always kicking in the extra buck or three for insurance. I had met her at CaliFur, and my son totally fell in love with her outfit. I have her +watched for his sake.

I was waiting for this to be posted here. I'm so sorry for what happened her whole attitude about all of this was more then a bit sour. She's defiantly one to stay away from.

I'm sorry this happened to you.
Her attitude is atrocious and so is Void's. Avoiding both like the plague. Very unprofessional.

I am so glad this was posted here.
I, too, watched this unfold and even now her attitude and how she is handling this is very, VERY poor. Definitely warrants a massive buyers beware. :(
I'm glad you got your refund and can put this behind you.

I find her behavior INCREDIBLY ironic, given that she demanded a refund from Elkdragon when she got her fursuit, and now refuses to treat you fairly with something that is entirely her fault..

I'm glad to see this here.
HotCoffee has had a pretty bad attitude throughout this. Beware well-warranted.

It's unfortunate that you're out some money for the shipping costs. Hopefully she'll see reason and refund you that at least, but I wouldn't be too hopeful for that.

I'm wondering if she actually believes what she is saying about the mask. Does she really, deep down, think he damaged it taking it out of the box?

From: [identity profile] calicofeathers.livejournal.com
I think she just thinks that once it's out of her hands it isn't her responsibility any more.

Someone was saying up and down the other day that her listing it "as is" gives her a get out of jail free card on the damage.

From: [identity profile] calicofeathers.livejournal.com
Yeah I saw that, too. That would've been all well and good if the beak had already been broken and HotCoffee had said so. But "as-is" doesn't cover damage done after the transaction. That seems like common sense to me.

yeah i saw that. That, and Void's Mom is a bailiff or something :p.

still. i can't help but wonder, surely, if she truly believes what she is saying.

So... Someone (who made an account yesterday (June 20)) is spamming up Hotcoffee's wall on this matter, about how it "wasn't her fault"

I don't know, but I feel it should be added that her fans are pretty bad as well, hence why there probably aren't many ab about her

That's a very good friend of her's and the husband of another well known scammer, likely who Coffee learned these poor habits from.

Not surprised in the slightest to see her here. She already has some bad history, I dont think I could ever forget her name. Sorry you had to deal with her, hopefully more people will avoid her though, now that shes on AB and amongst other artist warning sites.

typo.

Suit was already broken before she sent it without the buyer knowing about it. Beware well warranted.

Check the crack on the bottom right of the beak. Clearly repaired with hot glue.

As someone who ships somewhat-fragile masks, I can say from your photos of the packaging that the mask was not packaged properly. A layer of air bags at the bottom of a box will not prevent the object from moving around. The best way to pack a mask like this would have been to create a 'pillow' of wadded bubble wrap, air bags or at the very least, newspaper, and then wrap the item multiple times in bubble wrap. THEN put air bags at the bottom, sides and on top.

Things like packing peanuts (as the seller mentioned) are some of the most useless packing materials there are, as they allow the items to shift and fall to the bottom. Immobilizing the item is the best way to prevent breakage. Also their response to you was, in a word, inappropriate. If an item arrives damaged, it is never the customer's fault. It is either the fault of the seller who packaged it, or the post office/parcel service who delivered it. In the case of the latter, an appropriate reaction would be to contact the post office/parcel service to get a refund. If it was due to bad packaging, then the correct thing to do is give a refund or offer to fix the item.

Unfortunately it sounds like forcing a refund through Paypal is your only option. Also the argument of "you paid less than $100" and "I paid $20 to ship" is irrelevant. You both agreed on the amount to be paid for item and shipping. The amount you paid does not excuse the seller from refunding/replacing if it arrives damaged. When you ship it back, I would recommend sending it Registered, and I would also require a signature. Paypal may give you trouble if you can't prove it was delivered.
