WHO: When I commissioner her, she was under the username Paint on FA. She's also been Skink on Weasyl and most recently is Cockatrice on Flight Rising.

WHERE: I originally commissioner her over a stream while she was still doing business out of FA.
http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=view&tab=userpage&id=18876 is their userpage now, on the right under 'Recent Forum Activity' you can find their most recent commission journals.

WHAT: I commissioned her January 19th 2013 for $110 worth of pay what you want commissions, to be divided into two images. A few months later, I commissioned her again for $30 colored sketch. (exact date not known because I paid for it over some sort of funding website and can't seem to find it on my paypal although I remember paying and I am down on her commission spreadsheet for this commission. You can find the spreadsheet here http://oi57.tinypic.com/15z5a46.jpg my commissions are near the top and bottom.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ak6G1XPK44mudFNHWW83ODhYTmNsVkpNLWN5aE5RTmc#gid=0 this is the actual link to the google docs of the commission spreadsheet.)

WHEN: I paid her January 19th, 2013. You can ready about what has happened from then up to this update post here http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/766364.html

PROOF: http://oi62.tinypic.com/ixfkus.jpg screenshot of my payment for the original $110.

EXPLAIN: http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/766364.html The EXPLAIN: section here will cover what has happened up to this point, but there isn't much to report on.. which is why I think this update is necessary.
Despite being active once more on Tumblr and actively taking commissions on Flight Rising, I still have not recieved any contact from Skink/Cockatrice. And no wonder, you see later she purposefully turned off what appear to be all incoming messages from people she does not herself follow on Tumblr.
http://lollipopatrice.tumblr.com/ here is her tumblr, so you can see how active she still is.
http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=mb&board=skin&id=1030735 here's a link to a forum post where you can see she is offering commissions for Flight Rising things (don't quite understand the game fully) for $5, $10-20, and $15-25.
http://lollipopatrice.tumblr.com/post/97124492225 here is a tumblr post where she claims her 'money troubles are alleviated' and says in the same post she can no longer see any asks sent to her, nor see notifications from someone if she isn't following them. It's fantastic that she no longer has any money troubles, however I don't see what the reason is then to continue to ignore customers who want a refund for something they paid for in 2013.

The point of this update post is to warn/alert people to this artists's continued activity on Flight Rising, despite still owing money to past commissioners from over a year ago.

You know, I could almost understand it if she wasn't taking on new commissions and buying tons of new animals, but since she is doing that, why the hell can't she just email you and tell you what's up!

It's not the first time she's done this either, and the last time she refused to answer/read notes because it "stressed her out"... :/ She really needs to stop taking commissions.

I don't care if she came out with it herself, its not what we discuss in this community. Don't bring it up again.

Just for the record:

The Flight Rising "commissions" are for FR skins. While they do require some work, they're done by taking a PSD file already provided by the game's designers and editing it. Some of what she is selling are recolors of already drawn skins and accents. They take a lot less work than a traditional commission.

On her tumblr she has specifically stated that traditional commissions are closed until she catches up with her queue.

Besides this she hasn't actually -bought- any new animals. Her most recent acquisitions were gifted to her as eggs. When most of the first batch of eggs were duds the breeder sent out a second batch at no cost.

Like, it's not cool that she hasn't yet spoken with the person in question here -- but I wanted to clarify some points of misinformation here.

Alright, her personal life is not up for discussion. We're done before this goes any further.

I'm very sorry that you're still going through this :c But when flight rising opens again you can join and let her know whats going on. FR has no way to 'hide' alerts, so you could note her there. Hopefully she'll answer :o

You can block people from PMing you on FR.

Hah I'm surprised I'm even on her list there. I've been needing that fix since 2012. :U

I'm surprised they haven't as well. It's such a minor edit it should have been done forever ago. I know for sure they probably aren't going to ever follow through. :U

Just wanted to let you know that Flight Rising has an open registration window tomorrow, October 13! It should be open for 24 hours; maybe you can try to get in contact with them through there as well. Not sure if this will be particularly helpful, but it's worth a try at the very least!

This is sort of a general question for everyone, but is it appropriate to contact an artist via a pet site? Especially one like Flight Rising, where it does have these limited registration windows.

From: [identity profile] celestinaketzia.livejournal.com
In cases like this? I'd think so. Paint/Skink has pretty much closed off all over avenues for their clients to contact them, so there's not much they can do.

From: [identity profile] skulldog.livejournal.com
Yes, but only if all other options of contact have been avoided/ignored/blocked. If someone is voluntarily avoiding communication and hiding on new sites, moving to those sites to continue contact is warranted.

I wouldn't personally use a pet site as a go to option IF other ways to contact are working but maybe slow or spoty, as long as they are trying to communicate other ways. Bringing business on a fun site when email, IM or notes is still active, is never good.

People on Flight Rising, Subeta, Aywas, etc take commissions all the time, so I think it's a perfectly appropriate place to contact them - especially if they're doing more commissions on those sites while ignoring others.

I don't think the limited registration windows really factor into it - it's not because the site is exclusive (like some are), but just because they're still wrangling the server load.

But I think it does depend on the situation. In general though I think it's a good idea to keep communicating where you started communicating, to keep a linear communication where both you and the artist can easily reference it without bouncing between different sites/services. But in a case like this where the artist is ignoring or has shut down other avenues of communication, I think it's completely appropriate.

What a shame. I hate it so much when people treat their customers this way.

Skink seems to have closed their tumblr? Wonder if it's related to this somehow?

Yeaaaah, it almost definitely is. She has a habit of taking all of her personal failings in terms of commissions owed/money owed and trying to redirect it at the commissioners. As if it is somehow their fault. :/

From: [identity profile] inourtalons.livejournal.com
If it is directed at you, it's hardly your fault that they made the decision to post things aimed at you. I wouldn't feel responsible. They may also be responding to the reoccurrences of their name popping up on this site, possibly? But, again... that's totally preventable and not by the "stalkers".

Or maybe there's something we don't know about at play here, who knows.

HOLY crap. That is the most unprofessional attitude and I'm really sorry she still has your money. She's trying to make people pity her into just letting everything go, but when you owe someone $100+ worth of stuff that's pretty crazy.

if it is about the client, i (personally) find that disgusting.
Id never do work with them with that attitude.

not sure if this has been resolved yet, but she recently approached me about commissions on FR. what made me feel uneasy was that she specifically requested USD, not in-game currency, which is why i thought to post here.

so, she IS attempting to take on new "quick" commissions, albeit in private. :/
