WHO: Swizzlestix

WHERE: Inkbunny: https://inkbunny.net/Swizzlestix (banned)
And Furaffinity: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/swizzlestix/

WHAT: I ordered a colored, cell shaded commission with three characters and no background. Cost me $110
http://s1258.photobucket.com/user/blackenedtoastedtoast/media/paypalpayment_zpsld1wabua.jpg.html

WHEN: I ordered the commission in august, 2014. While I have had him be slow on commissions before, he always got them done. This time seemed longer than before and when Inkbunny went out of their way to email everyone that were owed by swizzlestix, then I knew something bad was happening.

EXPLAIN: He has put a journal up when he got booted off of IB.
http://s1258.photobucket.com/user/blackenedtoastedtoast/media/furaffinitywarning_zpsut9d0vjn.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2
But that was over a month ago and I have emailed him twice and put a FA note up. The note has not been read and the email never got any replies.

I hate to put someone up on here but he has several months to even get a wip ready. As of today, I know of one person that has received their commission since the journal been in place. I would already have put up a chargeback if it wasn't for the fact paypal has a 45 day limit, which is long since expired.

It looks like LJ had a little blip with your post. Please click on "edit entry" and then ctrl+c and then ctrl+shift+v. The post should be pasted back as plain text and fix the large gap.

I suggest ctrl+shift+v the text from the entry rather than the raw HTML and just let Livejournal handle it. It ported over just fine into our mod comm, so the gap can be fixed.

Alright, who knows why LJ does the things it does.

The plain text trick has always worked. I see all the unnecessary HTML that is causing the problem, but mods can't edit posts.

It's okay! LJ is being a butt and it sometimes does this despite all our efforts.

I have a feeling that shortcut works on Chrome but not Firefox (or IE?), though I could be mistaken. Cutting and pasting into notepad, and then back into the browser is how I've always done it.

Likely still LJ's being nuts.

Your links are showing up really tiny on my browser, so for anyone else having trouble:

It's really sad to see artists posting "I stuffed up I'll make good" journals and then vanishing. It looks like they may still be completing work? http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15511191/ NSFW but I don't know why they wouldn't post it publicly. It could be old art, but the user only just shouted to thank them.

Actually you have to use the zoom tool to see up close. So i can see it well enough.

I know, that's how I got to the bigger pictures, but 4/6 of his links go directly to the resized jpg's, not the photobucket with the zoom option.

I participate in a chat where Swizz talks every so often, I'm not here to "defend" him, I just wanted to toss some info in.

He has said that he does not want to post anything to his account because every time he posts anything, even if its a finally completed commission years ago, he gets a pile-on of people asking where their commission is. He has been completing work.

From what he has said about why this happened, apparently he took a big commission from a group and had issues sorting it out and is doing individual commissions instead and that has him bogged down.

I wouldn't take him not talking to people as "disappearing", I would put it down as him trying to get things done without distraction. I personally work in a position where the tradeoff between being productive and talking to customers is very clear and I have to spend alot of time "unavailable" or tell customers clearly every minute I am talking to them I am not researching their issue, so I know what its like.

Also, even among his friends he's extremely reluctant to take any new commissions, to the point that I don't even think he has in the last few months.

For his clients it is disappearing though if he isn't maintaining contact. Biting the bullet and dealing with a flood of unhappy clients (that he made himself) will work out for the better in the long run. If clients see some kind of activity vs. none at all, they may be put more at ease knowing that something is happening.

If he doesn't want to post to his gallery publicly, then that's fine. Contact your clients individually then to let them know how their work is coming along.

There is never an excuse to leave people who have paid for a service in the dark. None. Though it is good that he isn't taking on new work, because it doesn't look like this job is for him.

A slight clarification: the FA journal was posted a month before staff action on Inkbunny. This journal was not cross-posted to Inkbunny.

Swizzlestix continued to accept commissions on Inkbunny, while appearing to ignore communications from existing commissioners, as well as staff.

These factors combined led us to believe it was in the best interests of our members to inform them of the situation. We hope they will ultimately receive their commissions; or failing that, a refund.
