EXPLAIN:
All of the conversations are screencapped in order above, most of the convo happened over journal comments
February 25th.
She opened a journal for sketch bust commissions and I was actually there to catch them. I usually always catch her commissions journals after they close so I jumped at the chance and ordered two commission slots from her. She put me down for the commissions and as she didn't require payment until after she was finished with them I didn't pay yet. I expressed my excitement to finally be getting art of my fursona from her. I noticed below me someone else had asked for the sai files so they could colour them, I also wanted to get them coloured or colour them myself so I asked for the sai files as well. She said it was okay and she would just need my email so she could send me the full files. I told her I would note her my email after I paid.

March 1st.
She replied to me with the thumbnails of my sketch commissions saying once I paid she would send me the big files. I paid automatically but then clicked on the images I commissioned. The one I commissioned of my husbands fursona was perfectly fine but the one of my fursona was missing all of her piercings except for her industrial which was in the wrong ear. Hir hair was also too short, coming down to hir chin when her hair is at ( and past in some places ) the shoulders. I noted Falvie asking her to please fix the hair and piercings, even going far as to list all of hir piercings so she knew what all of them where and their locations.

March 3rd.
She hadn't read her notes to I replied to my comment on the journal again asking her to read her notes and reminding her that I had sent payment.

March 5th.
She replied saying that she was sorry for the delay and she would get back to me soon.

March 6th.
I replied saying It's fine and that I couldn't wait to see it.

March 9th.
I still hadn't heard from her so I asked if she knew how long it would be.

March 11th.
She replied saying once again that she was sorry for the delay and that she would tried to get back to me that night.
I replied once again telling her it was okay.

March 15th. ( I forgot to screenshot this but unless she deletes it you can see it on the actual journal. )
I had wrote a comment saying "It's been four days..."

Sometime around March 22nd. ( This shout has been nuked from her page so I couldn't screenshot it/have the correct date )
I didn't hear from her again despite trying to be patient so I wrote a shout on her page asking her to please reply to my note about the edits and that I still haven't received the file for the commission that didn't need edits.

March 22nd.
She finally noted me back saying she was sorry for the delay and the link for the commission of my fursona.
She had added the piercings but put them on the wrong side ( Industrial in the wrong ear, hoop in the wrong ear and the nostril piercing on the wrong side. ) and also gave my fursona two industrials. She also didn't attempt to edit the hair at all. She also still didn't send me the full files of my second commission.
I noted her back a little bit more serious than I had been when speaking to her. Resending her my reference and pointed out what was still wrong.

March 24th.
She opened up for two ych's and did in stream commissions. My note was still ignored even though she was online.

March 29th.
I wrote another shout saying "Please respond to my note, I am getting fed up."
She noted me back saying that she was sorry that I was upset with her work and that she "fixed the piercings like I asked" that she only had time to edit one thing and that she was "Sorry for not clarifying that." She also said that she was sick and didn't have much time on her hands and that she was sorry that my buiness with her hadn't been well.

I never expecting to have bad buiness with this artist. I know she went through a rough patch a while back but I thought she had grown past this. I bought a character from her in the past but that was quick and painless. She is hard to get in contact with and hard to work with. I love her art but I'm glad this was only a sketch. I would hate to see how much worse this would have been if it was a coloured piece.

Edit: I have since linked her to this artist beware stating that it will be marked as resolved once she fixes my drawing. It has been read but not responded to. I do not think she cares anymore.

Edit: I noted her again telling her that if she does not do the edits I will do a chargeback and she read the note and quite promptly refunded me without a single word said. I would like this to be marked as resolved.

i remember a few years back i had gotten an icon from her and she forgot my character's glasses? and i don't think she ever added them it's been too long but it's not unusual for her to do this i guess?

also the wrong side thing sounds like maybe she had the image flipped or something.. no excuse for not really paying attention either way

yeah true! it just made me think of certain artists i know that sometimes flip the image to double check it looks good both ways but then forget to flip it back and sometimes end up drawing details on the wrong side. i know i myself have also gotten confused which way i was originally working because i flip it so much.. or sometimes even when flipping, the references on the canvas end up getting flipped. it's actually a really common mistake to make, imo.. as for the sig, she could've just added that in afterwards when flipping.

it prooobably is just carelessness though on her part but just something to consider in the future that this is a thing that happens!

I've done this by mistake because I had the character reference flipped (so my canvas was fine) and didn't notice since I wasn't working on that main file.

Though of course I obviously send this letting people know to ask for changes and do them right away.

Sadly, Falvie seems to be falling right back into that bad place she was in awhile back, and it greatly saddens me because she is insanely talented. The fact she doesn't take payment until after everything is done is helping, but I've been seeing she's taking on way too much again lately.

Because of her anxiety issues and her horrible time management skills (and of course what happened last time), she does utilize a manager named Socks, so if all else fails you can try contacting her through them. She's also said herself she doesn't tend to read notes, so you may also try e-mailing her. I can't say much about the hair, because I can't see the thumbnail very well, but it looks as though she has the piercings in the right spots just flipped. Is it possible she accidentally flipped your reference at some point without realizing it?

Well, she actually had made quite a bit of progress there at one point. According to Socks, she'd finally gotten nearly all her commissions sent out, but it seems they're piling back up again. That's if Falvie fully disclosed to Socks all the commissions she owed before. Only difference this time is that she's not been taking payments until the work is finished for most of them.

Like I said, she's an insanely talented artist, I just hope she can get everything back on track.

Her 'public complete queue' was never fully updated. Tons of people complained they werent on her list, and never got their art. I still see people complain to this day that they dont have their owed art.

She also broke her 'payment after' rule multiple times by taking direct bank transfer commissions.

I would not take anything Socks says with more than a grain of salt.
Unfortunately because Falvie is their friend they have mega-blinders on to the reality of the situation.
And showed that rather spectacularly so several times here on A_B, even when facts were presented to directly contradict what they were saying.
Socks is not a reliable source.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating is that Falvie, is, to use the kindest terms I can, a bad business person. She lies to customers and deletes freely to hide her lies, employes guilt trips and sobs stories that have no business in business, and owes old art/refunds while still taking and completing new commissions for a quick buck. She still has not learned how to manage her time/set her prices appropriately to not have to take "emergency" commissions and still turns hostile or blame-game with customers when she makes a large or small mistake on her end. (ie: the very predictable being 'sick' when this customer needed further changes, etc.)

I wanted her to turn things around and do well, I really did. But sadly she has shown her true colours several times- and they are not that of an ethical business person.
I'm happy she seems to be doing leaps and bounds better with her newer work, but you scratch the surface of that veneer and the same old problems show up.
At least there is improvement, though. Improvement is good. I'm just sad to see the underlying lack of professional attitude hasn't gotten much better, even if the output and fulfilling obligations is trending up.

Agreed. Falvie has such beautiful art, and I got a piece from her several years ago. Despite her being rude to me (she said it'd be done by X, I messaged a week later, she said she'd stream in a few minutes for me, and then I didn't hear back that day, she messaged me the next day that she didn't have time to do it and thought I'd understand. It's like, but why would you lie, then?), she does very good art. And when she actually does it and pays attention, the quality is to die for.

I'd love to get a new one, but unfortunately all I've seen from her is really bad customer management. Every time someone tries to explain it, she plays a victim mentality. Also, the amount of donation drives she's set up (one for her hard drive apparently getting dropped in the water and breaking over $2k donations, and one for when her brother apparently broke into her and her ex's apartment and stole $1k she got in donations again) she'd have more respect and dedication to her fans. It's a bit frustrating because if she just changed her attitude, she's be a completely wonderful artist in every way; it just seems she refuses to grow up and take responsibility for her actions.

The last time I checked (since I follow her), it seems that Socks is still helping to manage her commissions. I think Socks just agreed not to come in and speak for Falvie in situations like this. However, yeah, from the shouts and posts, Socks seems to have a hell of a hard time getting ahold of her as well.
