Explain:
I took a emergency commission of a Soft Shade Pinup that Ryunwoofie offered on November 4 2014 12:30 pm est.

I have sent a few reminders since then saying I have yet to be added on Ryunwoofie's [To-Do-List]
The first one I sent on January 29th 2015 after sending the notes and being told I would be added
the next day or two later I gone though their [To-Do-List] find I'm missing still missing from the list and
found out Ryunwoofie had 77 other commissions to do at that time

Between the time I have been waiting o Ryunwoofie, she has posted several YCH's and taken more commissions while mainly posting
personal art. As of typing this I've gone though Ryunwoofie's [To-Do-List] again she owes 95 other pictures.
That is not counting myself even after the reminders, two pictures of friends not listed and any others that might not also be on the list.

I can not recommend commissioning this artist due to their lack of professionalism and to say the least the massive backlog Ryunwoofie has.

Edit: As of April 13 9:30 pm-ish Ryunwoofie has issued a full refund of the 65$

I do not deny that I have dug myself into hole and I am fully ashamed in myself for getting so in art debt. I made myself transparent and didn't hide that fact from newcomers and such. I wish you would have contacted me prior to this to work things out. I am having some personal issues involving my babysitter and hope to get things worked out within the next month or so to get back into work. I do apologize for promises and deadlines and not delivering. That is fully my fault. If you wish to contact me for a refund you may do so. Again I do apologize for all the stress I have put your through.

Also I'd like to mention that I did forget to save your information initially so that was entirely my fault, also forgot to add you to the list again as well. But around Febuary or earlier (I can't remember) I contacted all my clients regarding outstanding commissions if they wanted a refund. While a few wanted refunds a huge chunk were more than willing to wait while I delt with my issues. So all on my Que are aware of the list I have. Granted you didn't get that note, again was my fault and I deeply apologize.

I am slow on updating my list recently and that is my fault. I'm hoping after the baby's first year things will go much smoother for me.

I'm always more than willing to work things out I just wish you'd mention your concerns earlier or asked for a refund.

I never once did not respond though I don't want to use my bad memory as an excuse. It was my fault but I would have liked to know of any concern they had. I cannot read minds.

But you don't have to read their mind, they told you they were not on your list, you said you would add them, then didn't, twice. Why should they expect further communications with you to be any different?

If I were in the commissioner's shoes, I would feel as though my concerns were being brushed off, if not outright ignored. I wouldn't feel confident that further attempts wouldn't be treated the same way, especially as adding a name is much easier and far less stressful than addressing a timeline or a possible refund.

I have a terrible habit of checking notes via phone and saying I'll do something later and not following through or forgetting. I will try my best in the future to do so right when a purchase is made. I appreciate the critiques and will be taking this to heart with my future commissions.

Ugh I totally have the same problem. I have just started not even reading notes if I'm on my phone because if they want me to do something and I can't do it from my phone, I willllll forget.

Trello has a really awesome phone app if you don't have it! I'm not sure if you use Trello, but it's pretty awesome.

I'd recommend google docs! You can do that from your phone too, and it's much more simple, works way better for a long list.

I'd also recommend putting your to-do-list link on your FA page (unless I seem to be missing it?)

Your concerns are pretty valid, but my advice is to talk things out with the artist before you post them to A_B. If you need to, send a note that says, "If you don't contact me by X time, I will make a post on Artists_Beware"
It's been maybe six months and I don't see anything in your notes about a refund. You mention her long queue, but never seemed to mention it to her.
She shouldn't have taken so long on the commission, that's for sure, but I think you jumped the gun just a little. Not saying this is an invalid beware or anything like that, just a bit more preemptive than it needed to be. At least, that's the impression I'm getting reading the screenshots available here.

I agree. I like Ryun and her work a lot, but as a moderator and a long-time member of this community it bothers me that folks are essentially trying to run the OP off. If we didn't feel this beware was valid, then it wouldn't have gone through the queue.

That is still a lot of work, even though I'm very happy that Ryun is willing to take care of it. How many other times have we seen this from other people? Yet no one else has tried the run the OP off like here.

I could name a few bewares where the artist had a massive queue, were responsive to client inqueries, and no one told the OP that they came "too soon", but at this point it'll be best to agree to disagree.

I really don't feel we should compare other bewares and say you shouldn't say one thing because no one said it on the other. It's commonly said here that we aren't a hive mind, plus people do miss things, and change their opinions.

I don't feel this was too soon at all. If anything he is justified by this. I just feel a little upset that I had to find out he wanted a refund by a friend telling me I had an A_B. He can post this on me, I deserve it, I just wish that even after he sent this in he could have told me he did in fact want a refund via note as well.

As Signy said above I felt like I was being being brushed off or outright ignored due to Ryun wasn't even taking the time to put me onto the list. Having a few other friends in the same boat compiled the issue also.

I didn't mean it to seem as such. I just know personally fa has been marking notes read that I've never opened or never giving them to me in general. So while I may note an artist I also try to email them as well. But I also do this with refs and other things in case fa breaks again.

It's also with cellphones a better reminder to people since most people check their email more then once a day where notes even if read may not be checked again until they have amother notification or need to clarify some thing and even then if it's not bolded out some like myself at times may think I've already handled it when I havent.

I really wish fa would have a way we could put Note titles in italic if we've read it but still need to come back and handle it later. it would at least be a nice reminder that hey this still needs my attention.

But In short I never wanted to make someone feel like they came to soon. I Just Personally have a lot of dislike to fa's note system and think an email Backup try is always A good thing to try as well. In those just in case moments. While it's a little extra work it's always seemed to work a little better me.

This is exactly what I was saying. I'm not *at all* saying this beware shouldn't have been posted, I'm not even trying to imply it should have been delayed or anything. I am only saying a notification of something like an A_B is a good idea. It's not like I'm trying to impose some rule or law on anyone. I was trying to offer earnest advice. If others disagree about that, that's totally okay and I understand, but I'm honestly really confused at the notion that I'm trying to chase someone off.

And yes, there are no "people" saying this, it really is just me. I dunno why anyone is saying it as plural.

I'm sorry it seems I am trying to "run the OP off", that was not at all my intention. I was merely saying a definitive warning of action to be taken is a good step. Not saying this isn't a valid beware or that the OP is in the wrong in any sense.

ETA- I will refrain from giving this particular piece of advice in the future though, as it appears to be problematic for several people, and while I personally stand by it, I expressly want to avoid causing a fuss or conflict.

MTE, they contacted the artist twice to be added to the to-do list and weren't, and also found out there were other people waiting on commissions who weren't on the list either. I'd definitely be feeling wary in OP's shoes.

I know her list is long but honestly everytime I've emailed her I've always gotten a response within 24 to 48hrs after I've sent it. I do always recommend emailing artists in general because fa's note system has been so unreliable. WhIle it's not excusing the behavior in any means it's always just a good thing to try in general.

^This, seconding as it's helped me get into contact with elusive people. If you can find a email in your correspondence or listed on their page publicly somewhere, use it if you're having trouble with contact.

This is being screened. If you would like to submit your beware you have to do so by posting to the community using the "Post to community" link at the top. You will have to make a separate beware for each artist.

Be sure to include proof of your attempts to contact them, and ensure that censoring is correct. Just from a glance, I can see that one artist's email has been left uncensored in the notes.

Additionally, photobucket tends to be a not-so-nice host. Make sure all your screencaps don't resize to the point where we can't read them.

Once you've submitted your bewares to us, keep an eye out on the email that you used to register with Livejournal. From there we will either send you an approval notice, or a rejection notice if we need changes.
