EXPLAIN:
Contacted in september regarding some animal crossing style characters for myself and a friend; originally was 4 but added another character.  There was agreement, and payment was sent over. Time goes by, and i see or hear nothing of this commission on his tumblr - but other adoptables and posts taking on more work are posted before completion of mine. He was streaming templated characters and i'd joined and asked if he would be able to stream mine after, but i got a response suggesting he'd forgotten who i was/what my order was.

Waited a bit, then I sent him 2 emails asking about progress, and if i can get a refund because i have a shit job and would really like the money back, since nothing is being done with it. Responds with that he will be done in 'the next few days'.

Waited 3 more months, still nothing. Then tortle drops off the face of the earth, for months. He'd just returned to posting to his tumblr since the 5th of May. He's continuted to post as usual, but no mentions of commissions or past work being completed.

I've sent him an ask on his tumblr stating that i would post this if i'd received no response, and i have yet to hear from him either on tumblr or email.

TL;DR: So its been 8 months now, and i've seen no progress shots or anything from him. I have recently lost my job, and i am at my wits end because the money would help me immensley.


(Also, it's another point to note that on his Weasyl page, there are comments left from others that are waiting as long as me. I've contacted one of them, and her side of the story is similar to mine; No responds from him regarding refund or progress shots.)

Howdy! While your beware looked fab, we had some minor censoring issues that we needed taken care of but didn't feel it was worth rejecting for.

Please censor completely all instances of the artist's name (including from the text of your post, and completely censor their email from all caps. Thanks!

i remember tortle dropping off the face of the earth literally the day after i bought an adopt from him! i'm sorry you had this experience, his adopts are super cute.

Refund issue

I'm actually in the same boat, They owe me about 170 bucks in refund money. The only way I've been able to really contact them is through their roomie, they said they're going to refund me through payments?

same boat, kinda. commissioned tortle several months ago, and after several asks sent over tumblr he finally scheduled a livestream where he finished one of my pics, then dropped off the face of the earth after seeing the sketch for the second. couldn't tell you how many times i was told "it'll be finished soon!" over a period of these several months
can't seem to get a hold of him or anyone else for my $$$ back

Yeah he owed my partner several commissions and even a doll, I finally got a hold of him after several months and he tried to guilt me into feeling bad for asking about the commission like, and then continued to ignore me afterwards. It was pretty disappointing considering he even used to be a good friend.
All I can say is nobody should ever commission him again because you have a very small chance of ever getting it or even a refund.

Fed Up

Commissioned them edging in on a year and a half ago, two $15 'emergency' commissions, sent them $32.
Asked about them getting done in gaps between a couple of weeks-two months, always got excuses, yeah i'll do it soon. Offered to stream them at one point but never actually did.
After a year had passed, asked for refund, no response. Continued leaving messages on tumblr once a week for about three weeks until I finally got a response, them saying they were 'working on refunding everyone starting with the people who they owed the most money to first'. This was on May 22nd.
Have heard nothing from them and have since attempted sending a paypal invoice(several months ago), only to have it cancelled today.

Yeah I sent them a tumblr message after they wrote that post for the animal crossing commissions, they responded saying they should have them done in 3 days. Month later, yet again, nothing. See them posting a lot of art lately, but no owed commissions, just adoptables and stuff, it's just sad because I want to love their work but it just makes me upset to see it now

He still owes me a commission I paid for or three years ago. Completely unreliable. Wouldn't ever trust him with my money ever again.
