WHO: 100PERCENTAMAZING
WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/100percentamazing//
WHAT: Full color commission with two characters - $60
WHEN: Requested June 10th; completed June 20th

EXPLAIN: The request for the commission was placed in mid June, and upon starting the commission, 100percentamazing provided me with a PayPal Cash Card number and informed me to withdraw the amount from that. When I contacted PayPal customer service, they informed me the card was empty with no funds on it.

The image was completed and received approval on June 20th, with the comment that they would "pay when I'm able"

When asked again about it a few weeks later, they informed me that they would pay on July 11th.

On July 10th, they wrote telling me payment would be delayed.

When pressed, they were unable to give any idea on payment time or a time frame.

When confronted that I felt they had no intention of paying, they wrote to me that it was my "own fault"

Use caution when dealing with 100percentamazing and it is recommended not to do any work before getting full payment.

This person tried to commission me in June and after reading their form they sent in, I felt something was "off" about them as a client, especially considering their FA account was completely empty. Before initiating any contact, I decided to do some google searching about them and found they apparently had a history:

This one is new!

When I brought up that link and said I felt uncomfortable working with them, they began using obscenities like calling me a "bitch".

That...is just fantastic.

The OP and the IB link are the same person!

So I'm guessing this person primarily targets pay upon completion artists.

Yeah, I went to edit it and it wouldn't let me since some folks replied!

And I would agree, but I'm actually not a pay upon completion artist! My TOS and journals always state that I accept payment up front. I never got to that point with this person because I found that DA journal and cut them off :x

But yeah, after I trend them down they began calling me a "bitch" and a "racist".

Yeah I had someone (last year I think) who contacted me to do a 6 page comic and said they didn't care who the other characters were so I said I'd lower his personal cost and sell the slots to others. I ended up doing the rough pages (no details) and sending them to him and then asked for his payment ($80) and got the run-around for about a month. I was wary of him from the beginning since his gallery was totally empty. I've revised my attitude towards empty accounts because of it.

Thankfully I was able to resell his slot (at a 50% loss of the income I should have received, but it was better than nothing) and it wasn't an issue to finish the comic 'cause the sketch had no character details in it yet.

My question is why did you complete the image after being informed by Paypal that the card was empty? If that's the case anyway.

I'm sure hindsight is 20/20 in the cases with artists who have yet to learn to not deliver completed images unwatermarked and/or take pay upon completion.

Because it was already almost done, and a general belief that sometimes people make mistakes. So after spending half an hour on the phone with Paypal trying to get this sorted out, we figured it was just a fluke. Sometimes people have financial problems and it takes them a little while to pay, it is rude and means that they are not readily put on the commission list again, but it happens. Generally speaking, people are not this big of an asshole.

Sorry, I was not trying to name someone specific, just a general insult to people who do not pay for commissions once they are done. But I can see where it came off that way. My bad, sorry.

I guess based on your wording I figured you tried to run the card and even though it declined you still it, I didn't realize you were already so far along.

Also...I tried to edit, but had already gotten a reply:

Kandlin does not ask for payment until the product is finished, or finished to a certain point (minus small changes, things like that), and then approved. But different artists do things differently. Making sure commissioners are happy with his work is just the way he does commissions.

I was pay upon completion for a while. In the future I suggest the OP not deliver anything that isn't heavily watermarked to the great beyond and back. I used to slap big ol' "Unpaid unpaid unpaid" all over everything.

Seems I dodged a bullet with this guy. I knew the name sounded familiar and I had it on my block list. Looking back through my notes he had asked if I was open for commissions, but I dont recall why I blocked him. Seems a good idea that I did though. I require payment upfront, so we probably wouldnt have gotten very far. Looks like he has been doing this sort of thing for awhile, scamming people out of art. I hope the word spreads!

Wow, that comment saying it's your fault that they didn't pay for their commission.

It's like someone at McDonalds walking off with food without paying and going, "it's your own fault for handing me my food before taking my money".

Because that totally excuses theft.

Not to be rude or anything of the sort but coming from their last response in that note, it sounds like they are... maybe young of age. Says 20 on their FA page but I have... many doubts.

Ooooh This person! Ugh.

This came into my stream once and wanted to do nothing but post links to their 'Amazing portal pony'. After linking it repeatedly one of my chat mods asked them to quit, and was promptly called a bitch she banned them. Glad that was my only interaction.

Just as a head's up, this person is back with a new username and is trying to commission me after what he said before:
http://www.furaffinity.net/user/mynameislee1994/

Watch out if this person comes trying to ask you for art again, it seems like they don't get it.

I know this is an older post, I just wanted to leave this post here, that the user seems to be using another handle to get around blocks and try and commission people.

User: MyNameIsLee1994 just sent me a PM linking to http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17602834/ wanting a commission.
