I bought a YCH from this person for $12, which isn't much. I paid them $15 because I thought their "skill" was impressive and that I should tip a bit. They got the piece done in a very good amount of time, but it was brought to my attention that the piece was traced from another artist's art. I was refunded the full amount very quickly, but they deny that they had traced. Other than that, they are a really nice person. It's just a shame to see talent go wasted by copying others.

Just wanted to give a heads up. I have no idea how credible their adopts/other art are, but I wouldn't trust it.

It boggles my mind how people will say "it's not traced!" but it matches over the original stolen piece completely.

Unless you're a robot, that's impossible without tracing.

To be fair, at least here, they teach eyeballing as a 'skill' in some art classes, and some students have been know to recreate copies without tracing.

But, if more that 75% lines up, online, it's most likely traced.
You can also tell usually my the line art, and coloring being a lot less in skill.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Tracing is way different than eyeballing, and even a very good artist drawing from reference will never get it as exact as a traced image is. If an overlay matches up, then it's definitely a trace.

Well, there have been a few times instances where the lines were the same and the artist claimed it was due to grid referencing... which is totally different to eyeballing and tracing! /s

i will say that eyeballing is definitely a skill that should be at least touched upon in an art class. eyeballing teaches the necessary ability to read lines instead of just shapes in itself. it's why teachers will tell you to copy a painting that is upside down. makes it easier to remember things like anatomy and what not.
