Advice: Being ignored

A few days into January I asked someone about trading a pre-designed fursuit partial in exchange for a resin base. The persons agreed and at that point, before anything was sent out, I asked if it would be okay to have them buy me more supplies to make the trade equal (as the partial is worth $800 and it was brand new). They agreed to it, I made a list of things I'd like and they agreed to that as well. They said they'd ship their half that following Saturday and I agreed to do the same.

Saturday comes, I ship out my half and give them the tracking number. No response, messages aren't seen. I get a message from them on Tuesday that my half has arrived and they're more than happy with it. That's great, but I haven't received my half so I asked if they shipped it out too. They say they haven't had the time so they would run to the post office.

I receive no messages but the base arrives in the mail, to my dismay it's cracked but at least I received it. I tell them I got it but it was broken and ask when they'll buy the supplies. They give me the same response as they did when the trade first initiated, which sums up to "I'm not paid much but I'll buy it this weekend on Friday or Saturday."

The last time I asked, with my messages not looked at, was January 26th. I haven't heard back from them and they appear to be somewhat active.

Should I wait a little longer or send another message, maybe cut off ties with them and take my loss? Is maybe an A_B post needed?

Originally I was going to kick this and answer it myself, but letting the community put their two cents in trades gone awry like this is good I think.

Anyhow, for your question on if this is A_B material? In short yes, it can be.

In long:
I'd say set a firm deadline for them to ship what they owe to you or to make up a payment schedule to pay you for the difference of the value of your item minus what you already got for them. If they continue to lead you in circles about it, then by all means come forward.

Personally, I'd be generous and give them until the end of this month. They should have had the money from the get-go to preform this trade.

From what op posted, they agreed to just trade the base, but op later asked for additional items bought, so the other party most likely did not have money for them just laying around as it wasnt in the originsl teade agreemen5.

If you mean original agreement as in before the items were sent out and we were still in negotiations before finalizing everything, yes.

Yes and that's the point the other person should have been able to assess if they can afford it or not. Instead of saying yes when they obviously were going to have trouble delivering their half.

Im not saying theyre in the right, but changing tge trade agreement after it was agreed on, id probabky say yes regardless of if i could aford it or not, in fear of the other person backing out.

But ygen agsin, i woukd provide my hslf unless there was proif of the otger half. The trade us NOT complete until oo receives everything.

Sent them another message today asking for updates. They're definitely ignoring me at this point, they've changed their entire profile.

If I do submit a beware on them in the future, how would I go about censoring the post? As far as I know they only use Facebook for transactions and I know that's harder to censor than, say, transactions through email or FurAffinity.

We handle facebook only posts on a case by case basis. If there is legitimately no other way to pin them down besides their facebook name, then we may consider allowing it. Though all other names in caps (like from group screenshots) should be censored.

Unfortunately I can't trace them down on any other site. If things get worse would it be okay to submit an A_B under their Facebook name but if someone points them out on another site, link that and censor the caps more?

Hm, looks like she owns an older suit of mine but isn't the first owner, either the second or the third. She's also posting photos of my trade half and not looking at my messages.

I'll see if I can have the person who sold it to her tell me if she's elsewhere but I'm getting increasingly frustrated.
