The tables turned... Who do you think are good commissioners?

I know this community is mainly used to warn against /bad/ commissioners/artists.
But I decided to make a positive post, since many of you have experience commissioning things (or even offering commissions yourselves) I'm curious as to who you guys think are great commissioners or artists!

Who would you recommend? Who's your favorite? and what sort of great experiences have you had with the person?


I say this in addition to satisfied curiosity, I'm also considering a two character drawing commission (hopefully in time for Valentine's day, and if not then, by March 1st) and I'm just tryin' to do some homework as to who people would recommend for their commendable and buisnesslike qualities, among others, of course.

Even though I've done a few commissions for other's before (mostly costume commissions, though one or two art commissions as well), I've only ever asked for 1 commission of two conbadges before. They were done by neogeen who did an extremely good job. And I'd recommend her anyday. :3

Cody Sutherland (Orange Dingo): Patient, easy to work with, prompt payment.

Dave Wolf (fwtneon on Sheezyart): Prompt payment, easy 'assignment', really nice guy!

WolfPhan/Lupine Cubb: Patient and asks for easy things...I haven't officially accepted his commission yet, I'm on the verge of it and am excited to get to work with him.

These are people who will be getting discounts if they bring me repeat business, I am so happy with them :D

I have to echo Likeshine about Shetani. Great to work with. Also enjoyed the commissions I have done for Timothy Dunton. For artists, Illahie is the only one I have commissioned myself, and she was great about being quick on teh works, and checking in with me about progress and what I wanted.

bubblerat was super sweet to work for, as was naggeela. Chival was AWESOME, Thornwolf is great, bertha79 was so fun, ladyfoxglove was the fastest commission I've ever done for someone. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
_graywolf_ worked SO FAST and so did Tarkheki of DevArt.

I would say Lakota, most definitely. Many artists here have probably been commissioned by her aside from me, so you know how excellent of a customer she is. ^^

Uhh, considering this /is/ an artists_beware community, I prefer to keep things like this separate, but I'd have to say that panth is an excellent commissioner especially coming from someone whos a horrible commissionee *points to self* ;)

According to the rules of this comm, "you can also post positive remarks about commissioners." :) It's good to hear about who's good commissioners and artists too, sometimes.

Pretty much everyone I've delt with on Furbid has been awesome. Imago_Rabbit, Neverraven, Sonitweek, Airguitar, Trinearth and Yami-griffin... all awesome communication and punctual people. ^_^

as far as commissioners.. here are some repeat customers <:3 and that is always a plus! Kahateni Silverfoxwolf BigBlueFox Johnie TigerEye Kyle Diefenderfer Pyre CrazyDogz On the whole, just about everyone i've worked with has been great <:3 clear descriptions, none too picky with what came out on the paper, pretty good about getting out payment when billed.. you know.. the good commissioners greatly outnumber the not so good in my experience :3 ~~Huskie

I am, due to being a stressed-out mom of 3, about the slowest commissioner in the world (although I do get them done eventually, so I guess I've got some people beat) and they were all very patient with my time issues, paid promptly upon completion (and even in advance in some cases), gave great descriptions, and were otherwise pleasures to deal with.

In point of fact, I have only had one commissioner I would characterize as negative - the girl who kept "forgetting" to pay me despite reminders over the course of more than a year, until I finally ended up auctioning off the art. It was the only time I ever offered a sympathy-discount on my rates, so I consider that a lesson learned. I don't even remember her name.

[Unknown site tag] is great. She does awesome animals and I would recommend her in a heartbeat. Also CrescentMoon from dA did a beautiful weretiger and human girl piece for my brother. She's doing another one for him currently and the prelim sketch of his tiger and my cheetah looks awesome so far. [Unknown site tag] did a BEAUTIFUL painting that was given to me for Christmas. (It even survived my house fire the other week.) The package was a bit slow in getting here, but I blame that on the fact that she's in New Zealand and I'm in Canada, so be sure to give time considerations with where you live.
