Captain Buttz, Where art thou?

This year at Anthrocon, I went around Artist Alley and found myself admiring the works of one particular artist. He called himself Cpt. Buttz, aka astralabortion on FA, aka exodite dragon...

Anyways, I commissioned himself for a $45 badge, which i've seen -once- near completion during the con. However, it seemed that keeping track of him was next to impossible, so I ended up leaving empty handed from the convention without my badge. The last I heard and seen of him was about the last day of the convention, assuring me that all he needed to do with laminate the badge and it would be ready. And he also told me that he would be in the Zoo that night, just so I can pick it up...

I haven't seen, heard or had any contact with him since.

It's now August 4th, its well over weeks now, and he hasn't sent a single note or even READ any notes on FA. This is greatly angering me and I wondered if anyone else has commissioned him has the same problem too.

Thank you for responding on behalf of Nica and myself (I also commissioned a badge from him). I feel a little bad for being so persistent in my e-mails now. I've had artists disappear on me in the past, but it's good to know he isn't one doing this.

He's one of my good friends. He roomed with me at AC, and we had a really uh...dramariffic last day at t he con. He got really sick after the con, and he's in the process of moving.He doesn't get on FA much, either. But I'll def. give him a call or poke him on AIM to let him know you're looking for him.

Thanks for explaining things. He told both Nica and I about having lots of dramallama while at the con, and we read that he got ill, but other than that, we were worried since he had not responded directly to us. As said above, I feel a little bad for being so persistent with my e-mails. I knew he was on move to an apartment, but I assumed he had internet because he made an FA journal telling about the move (along with con crud and the like.)

I'm relieved since there is now some form of communication telling us what's going on. Thank you.

i have been instructed to communicate the following:

he has no internet ATM and hasn't since mid-july, no way to scan or upload stuff, can't check email/fa/etc. badge is done and was ready to be picked up at the con. he says he'll deal with it when he is able to get back online again.

We're hoping for the best with him and his new place and apologize for being so persistent. It's a knee-jerk reaction to bad communication we've had in the past with other artists.

I think the worst I did in the e-mails was stress it had been "THREE WEEKS" since the con, and notified him I would send an e-mail each week to keep in touch. There in lies my persistence. Not yelling, but being too lazy to put down bold. I was more concerned than angry. Nica got a bit angry...because I was frustrated. First and foremost, however, we were worried the con crud had gotten the best of him. Sometimes that stuff is hard to get rid of. Artist concern first, art concern second.

If I could have your e-mail, you think I could give you my street address to forward to Buttz? If that's the only thing keeping him from sending it out, I'd like to get it sent out and not worry about a digital copy.

If the art is done, it's done, and I don't see a point of it just having to sit there. ^_^'
