I have a friend who commissioned the artist Lazeros for a conbadge at Furry Weekend Atlanta about 5 months ago. He paid the full $20 dollars for the badge at the con and originally intended on picking up the badge by the end of the con. She told him on Sunday she'd have it finished the next day (Monday) for him to pick up. He got there to see the hotel staff cleaning up the Dealer's Den.

On March 23rd, she sent him the following note: http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/8939/lazscreenshot.jpg
He responded to the note with his college address.

Six weeks passed, and he sent her another note saying that his address had changed (no longer at college). She did not respond to the note.

Mid-July, four months after the con, he sent her another note asking for a status update on his conbadge.
All three notes have gone unread so far.

He still has not seen the finished badge.
Does anyone know of a better way to contact Lazeros? Thank you for any and all help in this matter. :D

Their FA page is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/shesta/

however it doesnt look as if theyve updated in a long time D:

It does have their email addresses on the page, maybe drop them an email too instead of doing it via note?

Agreed. It's a good idea to exhaust all options of communication, if you haven't already.

According to their twitter: http://twitter.com/Lazeros , their last post was Apr 4th, so it may mean they've dropped off the web though. Still, try the emails. Some people who've dropped off the net still check their email now and again.

She is completely active on devart right now. I saw her make a comment on someone's art just a few minutes ago.

no problem. :3

they've been really active on DA so its odd that they havent addressed their notes. However i had a little trouble with their communication about a commission years ago, but at the time they were going through a lot so i let it be. x.x they werent the quickest responding to notes etc.

I hope everything goes well for you! :D

I've seen her active on her front page, too, and she updates journals, but doesn't get around to her notes, for some reason. I feel it'd be rude to leave a comment on her page asking, "Hey, where's my badge?" though :/

What some people do if someone doesn't seem to notice they have a PM/note is to leave a comment to the effect of "I left you a note, please check, thanks". It's pretty neutral, and anybody reading it wouldn't know what it was about. If PMs go unanswered or unread for a while, and they're visibly active, I think it's perfectly appropriate to remind them that they have stuff pending, without having to go into detail.

Did you ever get your art?

That's a shame. Please let me know if they do get their art!

Alright, thank you. Though they should know that deleting posts isn't allowed here and will get the people who post them in trouble, as well as make the artist look worse when people find out. It's always better to have a record that people got what they needed in the end as opposed to it looking like they just covered their tracks.

I'll tag this as it's an older post and hasn't been tagged at all.

I had that similar issue with that artist on FA, except it had nothing to do with the badge, but rather a chibi commission

I've tried reminding her about it and asked for paypal address, but she didn't respond (I'm starting to get worried about her)

is this Hyun? the one who I sent a ton of free shit WITH his completed badge? Because this would be the fourth shitty beware thing his little friends have made about me.

If it is another artist, I hope they note me, because I make it a point to be sure everyone gets their badge. Hyun is the only one I know of who freaked out and had their friends try to ruin my reputation.

this is not true, there are forums aside from this livejournal community where "friends" of Hyun had posted a beware about me. But what they didn't mention was that he had my cell number, and could have contacted me at any time. Anyone who gets a badge at a live convention also gets my live contact info in case of situations like this.

I know you think you are doing the right thing by posting for a friend, but a lot of the information gets skewed when it isn't the original commissioner making the accusations.

You made this post to me, and yet Hyun had not only gotten his badge before then, he had gotten personalized sculptures, charms, sketches, and freebies as an apology for being late with sending the badge.

When I saw this, along with the other forum posts from OTHER friends of his, I couldn't imagine why he would have you guys do this when he could have just called me on my cell :\

This really disappoints me. I don't think friends should be able to make posts like this. If Hyun really thought he couldn't contact me, he should have signed up and made this post himself.

It would have been more accurate if he had just said he lost my contact info.

Please understand that deleting posts isn't allowed here. It will look better for you as well for it to publicly show that these matters were resolved, as when posts are deleted, people tend to assume the worst, and it makes you look bad by association.

Posts made about you that are resolved, however, are tagged as such so people know that you came through, and that looks better on you in the end.

I agree with you, unfortunately more times than not the poster on this forum is not the commissioner, and unless the artist being accused comes along, no one tags the post as resolved. It makes things difficult.

In my case, I was caring for my father who had cancer, and a disabled mother. Then I lost my father and had to settle the estate. I did my best to communicate this to commissioners, but unfortunately, some commissioners didn't understand how much of a difficult process this is.

What saddens me most was that this particular commissioner was given all my contact info including cell phone number which I urged to be used. But because this site allows friends of friends to post a warning, this information is never revealed. In the end, it's really not very fair to the artists who ARE trying their best. (of course this doesn't include those who really do take money and dash :C )

Sorry to text wall you, but of course, if my username is googled, this entry comes up.

We actually don't anymore. We made a rule about that recently because it was getting out of hand. At first we didn't mind because it was a very occasional thing, but then that changed and people started doing it all the time, so we banned that behaviour.

It looks like the post is tagged as resolved, though. And now that you've commented, anyone who reads the entry will be able to see your side, as well.

you know, that makes me feel a lot better about this. It was an excellent rule change, and I applaud whoever made it :)

Thank you for letting me know. ^^

I think it was pretty much a group decision of 'Man, people keep doing this, let's put a stop to that'. I'm glad it's in place, too! Second-hand posts were kind of annoying to moderate.
