Paiseley and refunds

So two years ago I commissioned Paiseley (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/paiseley) for several sketches to be paid upon completion. A year passed without seeing anything, and she posted asking for commissions or donations, and I reminded her about the commission and offered to pay if she would follow up with the art. $50 and a year later nothing to show for it. So I asked for a refund. Now four or five months later I haven't seen anything for my efforts except a lot of people posting shouts to her FA page saying that they too are owed refunds or massively late commissions.

Does anyone know what the heck is up with her? Has she vanished with other peoples' and my money? I mean it has been over two freaking -years- now since I commissioned her, and months and months since asking for a refund and now there's a flood of people in the same situation as me.

Edit4: I was given her contact info and called her tonight and left a voice mail about the commission. She texted me back saying she had no idea who I was or how I got her number and never to contact her again. I texted back with details and got a "Do Not Contact Me Again" as a reply. Trash.

So you paid out $50 after a year of no result upon the original agreement (payment on completion) and year two rolls around and still nothing (where you pre-paid to ensure completion?)?

I hate to say it, but I do believe you've been had. Which is unfortunate.

They have been harvesting themselves a pretty bad rep. :(

Sorry to say it, but this is what you and others get for being duped into thinking that these artists doing sloppy gangsta-style art are anything but hacks. Anyone with a few months' drawing experience can draw enough cylinder and circle guidelines to rattle off commissions as simple as this http://www.furaffinity.net/full/2094446/

I'm sick of this community. Time after time I click on the alleged artists' name and say to myself "even though the OP says they're popular and good, they're going to look like they've been scribbling for a couple of months and only made it big because they make a bunch of commissions in that trendy scratchy-line style with garish colours".

If you commissioners had any taste, this community wouldn't exist.

I commissioned her in January of this past year for a set of conbadges. I wasn't aware that she had any issues with completing commissions before that. I asked for a refund of the $65.00 purchase price, but haven't heard anything and kind of doubt that I will hear anything.

She has a twitter under the same name as the LJ. Which includes regular tweets 'n stuff. -.-;

As for Paiseley, it's really a shame she's doing this-- her artwork has been nothing but fantastic. She was also posted here (http://community.livejournal.com/furrydrama_2/tag/paiseley) in furrydrama_2 recently. You need to join to see, and I think membership is open.

I have also been waiting a long time, over a year. She actually talked to me on AIM about my commission, she again, had NO clue who I was or that I gave her money, but when I sent a screen shot of the paypal transaction for paying her she instantly knew who I was. Still haven't seen the art, I know she was at AC09 and got MORE money from people and then left not doing any of the art. There is something we can all do though, file a claim through paypal, it will freeze her account and ALL bank accounts connected with that paypal address. Yes, it is a bit drastic, but she fucked a lot of people over and obviously doesn't care.

Sadly, claims only work within a certain time frame. A lot of people who have not received their owed artwork made the deals can't file claims. :(

I paid her back in January for one of her "artpacks" for $65. Aside from a brief email in March saying she was moving and hadn't started on any of it, I haven't heard squat from her. I've sent multiple emails to both her rascalking and commissionqueue addresses and I'm still waiting for a reply.

At this point I don't even want the art anymore, I just want my money back.
I don't think I can file a paypal claim now either since it's been so long.

Can anyone out there talk some sense into her, please? I understand real life shit happens, but a year for some badges and an icon is ridiculous.

Even her best friend Havocpwns/2x2l has said she has been getting after Paiseley about this and doesn't agree with the behavior, but I can't say if anything has gotten through to Paiseley.

It's a shame. She has quite nice artwork. But then art skill doesn't guarantee professionalism.

I'd suggest maybe organising everyone who has commissioned her and getting a class action lawsuit going.

She was the first person I ever commissioned, and ended up with my $65 for nothing :/ I assumed she was good for it, because at that time nobody had been talking about her being a thief or scammer, and she was chruning out badge and icon commissions left and right.

I contacted her about 6 months after I commissioned her, when she posted a journal offering refunds. After putting up a fuss when she told me it'd take til the end of the year, she said she'd refund it right away, and hasn't responded to anything since.

Probably won't commission anyone again.

I've heard iffy things about this artist for a long time, now. I'm sorry to hear she's not only NOT doing your art, she's pretending she doesn't even know who you are. That's a dick move, right there; I wish I had any advice, but really this only confirms that she's no good as far as all this goes. Her attitude is shitty, too.
