[identity profile] kaputotter.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] artists_beware
Somewhat cross-posted:

I just want to give a shout out that there is now a community for FurEAuction, [livejournal.com profile] fureauction.

I know this is the Artists Beware group, but... I thought it would be tangentically related, in light of the recent politics of FurBid. Now, I don't usually like to name names and all that. But that's where my badmouthing ends.

FurEAuction has a lot of potential to be a great alternative, but it has long been on the wayside and ill-used. Why? Basically because that's the status quo.

But Kurst is quite open-minded to listening to peoples' feedback about the site -- in fact, that's the REASON he created FurEAuction: for the people who weren't happy with the irresponsiveness (and, if you'll allow me a smidgeon of personal opinion, poor decision-making) of the other sites.

I'm about to go through the site and list the stuff that needs improvement, such as design, categories, function, etc. So go join it, and post feedback! We can make it more than usable. We can make it COOL. ;)

What, you mean Ayukawa doing whatever she wants, posting pictures of herself all over the site to boost her popularity score, not responding to matters that need to be addressed when it involves her friends, even IF they're breaking the site TOS?

I have no idea what you mean!? Furbid's the model auction site, right?

What?

You've got to be kidding. For mentioning what you did here or did something go down at the forums?

That seems highly immature of them to do - deleting your account like that. XP

Have you contacted anyone at Furbid about it? If my account was mysteriously deleted out of the blue like that - no prior warning, reason, etc - I know I would demand to know why it happened.

Next time you decide to announce something like this, it would be better if you deleted your account off the server first.

No accounts have been deleted from the FurBid Discussion Board since its inception. There have been five accounts suspended back in July of 2004, all of them were the same spammer.

I have made it a point to not suspend any person without giving them at least five warnings. I do ot ban anyone without them being suspended first, and then they must violate a term of suspension which they are given with their notice of suspension.

Please stop spreading rumours and lies about me and the way I run the FurBid-SF system. It is very immature of you to do so.

Actually, you are right. I discovered this mistake was my own, so I humbly retract that statement. I attempted to login with "dragoneer" and NOT "Dragoneer" and kept getting an error of "user does not exist". After trying every combination of passwords, I looked up my name on the registered use list and must have glaned over.

Again, this is *ENTIRELY MY FAULT*.

I jumped to conclusions on this one.

By the by, having a note that names are case sensetive may help. The error message I got made me think I had been removed. I've had that happen with another admin on a site when I disagreed with his methods, so...

Again, my apologies. The error message of "Sorry, we could not find a member called dragoneer, are you sure it's correct?" is misleading. It made me jump to an (admittedly) highly stupid conclusion. I've tried to e-mail you several times in regards to previous matters, and my e-mail bounces with an "undelieverable" error.

Again, my apologies. I accept that I cried wolf and fucked up.

It is not that big of an issue really. I do not mind much. There are worse things that have happened than misunderstandings. Do you have a copy of one of those emails and the bounce notice? It may be fixable. I have been encountering that woth a few other locations as well.

I think also I should make note here that I have seen you spreading a few other things which are quite incorrect.
1). The FurBid Mascot Breeze was appointed by Aatheus, long before I took over. I made the decision to remove her from the position of mascot to give others a chance at the title, creating a community of six mascots to represent FurBid-SF. Breeze was re-entered by Kacey into the contest and was one of the six who won.
2). Breeze is a Black and White Spotted Skunktaur. The Ayukawataur is a Purple Spotted Panthertaur. Though the Ayukawataur has been used on a banner to advertise the banner system, she has not been used in any other visual capacity beyond avatar icons on the discussion board and a single image on the Administaur Personal Page.
3). No friend has ever had their account edited in any way by myself. I place more value on my honesty than I do on anything else in the Administration capacity. In fact, all friends of mine know better than to try and break the ToS as they know they will most likely get a worser resonse from me than normal simply because I will not favor my friends.

I believe that is the three major ones that have been relayed to me with sources.

Again, thank you for your time

On points #1 and #2, I thought "Breeze" was your character. I had been told by several people that was your character, and I didn't see any notes that said the character's name was Breeze on the site. Although, now I see that listed in the news section, it's not readily apparent that the character *IS* Breeze on the site, nor did I see a link to a full pic.

On a side note, I did not ever once say that the mascot won because of X or Y circumstances. Somebody else said that. I did say I thought it was bad that there were pictures of you all over the site, but (from bad information AND not readily apparent information) I thought that Breeze was you, as she sort of made an apperance around the same time.

Now, as I pointed out, Orochi's information did change, and I felt not getting a response when I pointed out that the change from three negatives and one neutral happened during your adminship, when you said it didn't.

On point #3 was my biggest concern overall, because I and others got fucked by him on commissions. Now, I'm not a great commissionee myself (I'll admit that), but the feedback system is in place to try and protect bidders AGAINST people who may be trying to defraud them.

I gave you proof that something was wrong and that his feedback changed completeley and entirely, provided links and saw nothing done. That lost my confidence (and admit, probably got me paranoid). I thought at first there must have been some 'deal', but then I realized Orochi must have changed his Furbid user name to something else, made a new one, and changed the new account back to the name of the old one.

To be honest, that ticked me (and the other people who left negative feedback). Perhaps you e-mailed him inquiring about why his negatives were gone, what he did with them, etc. I don't know, but I do know seeing nothing done regarding the feedback exploit left me exceptionally angry.

Which is probably what lead me to my paranoia and disgruntled, angry attitude in the first place. I've got a negative feedback, which (sadly) was earned. I'm not taking measures like Orochi to hide my bad selling history.

I dunno. That alone left me upset, and #3 was what I told.

He deleted his account and started a new one. There was no policy at the time which prohibited such an action.

You are not seriously asking me to penalize someone for something that there was no policy against doing at the time they did it, are you?

If so, it would be a very hypocritic thing to ask of me. Especially considering how big of a fit was thrown here about no warnings or anything earlier.

Fairness has to work both ways.
