Original Post, which will be edited with names: http://community.livejournal.com/artists_beware/333214.html

When we last left our heroes, the deadline of a week before AC was given. In a week, the con will be starting and I still have not heard hide nor hair from Booboo. In that time, she's uploaded pictures of a fursuit head, which like the iPad, I have no proof she paid for, but no proof she DIDN'T pay for.

At this time I'm notifying her of this entry and telling her that at this point, I have not seen any work done and that I will not take anything but a full refund, since I have no proof that work has been done. She's had almost a year to complete 2 badges and to show that work has been done, and she has done neither.

I will also be contacting AC's Artist Alley and notifying them of this entry. As far as I'm concerned, she has had every opportunity to prove herself and has done little to nothing in the way of doing so. I don't feel bad doing this anymore, as it's necessary to keep her from ripping off anyone else.

UPDATA: I have received a refund from the artist. Mods, please mark the two entries as resolved.

I was right, this was who I thought it was about.

That's a real shame. She always seemed really cool. I hope this gets resolved for you.

Thanks for posting this. I'm waiting for a badge from 2 years ago from her myself. I've contacted her multiple times and have been promised either the original art (which she's lost) or she'd redraw the badge for me. I have yet to see anything over here.

wow, tried messaging her on her twitter?
because she posts there about updates, fursuits..etc.. like 5 times a day at least.

I'm pretty dissapointed on her, seems she got the "popufur" syndrome, when she gets popular, gets as many commissions to earn money, spend money.. then get lazy and never make certain pictures because she is overhelmed...

Looks like you are going on the right track - that's just very bad, 2 badges is at the very most a day's work - she's just screwing you over.

Please keep in mind rule number 4.

4. No criticism of artistic quality or monetary value.

You don't have to like her stuff, but this isn't the community to discuss such in. Thank you.

Alas, this is sad news. I see her on [livejournal.com profile] pkmncollectors sometimes, and she seems pretty nice. :/

I hope this all gets worked out for you!

Funny how artists seem to lose their owed art every so often. How does that happen anyway? Whenever I draw on paper and like the end result enough, I put it in a folder or sketch book. And that's with art people haven't paid for.

I know she's claimed to be stressed and uninterested in doing artwork lately, but really, I commissioned a badge from her at a con several years ago, and I think it took her half an hour, tops =/ can't believe you're going on 2 years now!

She used to be a really cool person, but I second cesarin, she got really popular and kind of changed. We met at a con a few years back, and she and I hung out and drew together, and since she's gotten popular, she's kind of stuck up and only talks to the popufur crowd =/ it's unfortunate, cause like I said, she's a fun person, and she also has adorable art. It's sad what popularity does to some people in this fandom.

Seconding Grimmhooke. She always did seem rather nice, from afar anyway. It's not like I know her personally in any way.

Hope you get your badge, sooner than later.

Also, what is this new word, popufur? Seriously?

This. And maybe it's just because I don't throw paper without cheking it first away but if something papery-arty is lost, I search through every paper stack in the house and it usually can be found.

I agree with you, but recently, which all the crazy stuff with getting married, I lost my WHOLE sketch book.. it had some commissions in it (that I redrew for the people I was working with) only to find it 6 months later when the cats knocked a box of stuff over - at the bottom was my book.

so it does happen, but I mean you kinda have to step up and say, "hey, sorry let me re do it for you!"

it is....

it's really just to make fun of people who are super fandom popular.

I can be disorganized at times, so sometimes I will lose an original sketch, but if I like it enough or if it is for someone, it's been scanned and sent to that person... so I have what I need. ._. (considering I only do digital commissions). If I lose something before then it wouldn't have been in any state of completion or any way you could understand it.

It's a joke term from some ppl who made a video to the song "popular" from Wicked. xD

Ach, she always seemed nice- we used to OC from time to time. Too bad she appears to do poor business. Hopefully this will scare her into going straight with her commissions/commissioners.

Yeah, the times I've done traditional trades and commissions they've been scanned on the same day and put away in a folder because I don't trust my scatterbrain at all.

Of course, it does happen. I've mislaid stuff plenty of times myself. However, it does seem to happen rather frequently judging from the posts made to this community. That's more than a little suspicious, I think.

Bah. Watch me Internet and be amazed!

Glad it's a joke, though. For some reason, I shudder to think of people who use the term in a serious manner.

I have misplaced a drawing I did for a friend at least three times. Lucky for me, however, it was not a paid commission or anything. I will find it one of these days.

It's one of the reasons I don't do traditional art. I also have a parrot who likes to nibble at the stuff, so if I walk away while working on it, I might be boned.

no, I don't think anyone uses it seriously xD like, I wouldn't call a celebrity popufur! People who add fur to everything are....kinda weird X=

stuff gets lost, it happens. I'm okay with it actually, just as long as I either receive a refund or my badge redrawn. It's just that the redraw never happened. I know she's been posting about art blocks, which I completely understand cause I go through the all the time, but at this point, I'd just rather her be honest with me whether she wants to do the work or not.
