When we last left our heroes, the deadline of a week before AC was given. In a week, the con will be starting and I still have not heard hide nor hair from Booboo. In that time, she's uploaded pictures of a fursuit head, which like the iPad, I have no proof she paid for, but no proof she DIDN'T pay for.

At this time I'm notifying her of this entry and telling her that at this point, I have not seen any work done and that I will not take anything but a full refund, since I have no proof that work has been done. She's had almost a year to complete 2 badges and to show that work has been done, and she has done neither.

I will also be contacting AC's Artist Alley and notifying them of this entry. As far as I'm concerned, she has had every opportunity to prove herself and has done little to nothing in the way of doing so. I don't feel bad doing this anymore, as it's necessary to keep her from ripping off anyone else.

UPDATA: I have received a refund from the artist. Mods, please mark the two entries as resolved.

Thanks for posting this. I'm waiting for a badge from 2 years ago from her myself. I've contacted her multiple times and have been promised either the original art (which she's lost) or she'd redraw the badge for me. I have yet to see anything over here.

Funny how artists seem to lose their owed art every so often. How does that happen anyway? Whenever I draw on paper and like the end result enough, I put it in a folder or sketch book. And that's with art people haven't paid for.

because she posts there about updates, fursuits..etc.. like 5 times a day at least.

I'm pretty dissapointed on her, seems she got the "popufur" syndrome, when she gets popular, gets as many commissions to earn money, spend money.. then get lazy and never make certain pictures because she is overhelmed...

With the 'very most' part I'll have to disagree. I'm a slow worker, and I could not bust out 2 badges in a day and actually have them up to par with my normal standards even with my personal artwork, let alone with paid work where I'm much more picky and thus it can be a vicious cycle before I'm finished. :I But 2 years is definitely way WAAAAAY too long.

I know she's claimed to be stressed and uninterested in doing artwork lately, but really, I commissioned a badge from her at a con several years ago, and I think it took her half an hour, tops =/ can't believe you're going on 2 years now!

She used to be a really cool person, but I second cesarin, she got really popular and kind of changed. We met at a con a few years back, and she and I hung out and drew together, and since she's gotten popular, she's kind of stuck up and only talks to the popufur crowd =/ it's unfortunate, cause like I said, she's a fun person, and she also has adorable art. It's sad what popularity does to some people in this fandom.

Ohhh, so that's who that post was about!

I'm not surprised, myself. I commissioned a Pokesona badge from her... probably three years ago, at least. It was before my time in this community, so I didn't really know what to do about the lack of communication. I only ever got a sketch from her, and then I pretty much gave it up as a lost cause, because I thought she was too nice/didn't know what to do.

Also never posted it to a_b because of the lack of trying on my part, but I figure chiming in never hurt. :B

Since you've mentioned Artist's Alley at Anthrocon, I thought you should be aware of the official stance (http://community.livejournal.com/artists_beware/333549.html?thread=10296813#t10296813) of AC's Artist's Alley in regards to disputes.

To directly quote duncandahusky, "Anthrocon does not and can not become involved in disputes between buyers and sellers in Artists' Alley. Anthrocon's role is limited exclusively to processing payments on consignment. It does not imply endorsement of or responsibility for any party."

He goes on to explain why this policy is in place, this is reposted with his permission.


I can't speak for other furry conventions, but MFF has an identical policy. All you can do, as the commissioner, is to utilize communities like this and spread the word that someone's unreliable. :(

While nobody expects large cons to become directly involved in disputes, it is a good idea to prevent known scammers from purchasing selling space. Many cons already prevent people known to not complete work from selling in their artist's alleys/dealer's den.

Really surprised by all the comments implying she's stuck-up, though, as she's always been one of the sweetest and coolest artists I've ever gotten stuff from.

Also The agreement, just so everyone ever knows, is that I would finish these badges BEFORE ac, and I do have a week. I understand that 1 year is no excuse to finish badges, but I have gotten backed up and jumbled up. I didn't mean to "rip anyone off" here. Just been uninspired and over worked at my real job lately. I offered a refund for AFTER AC if she could wait, which she chose not to. I had ever intention of finishing those badges to be send out on Tuesday. If the OP wants a refund she can have one there was no need for this.

Just as a personal thought, I don't see why someone having a Mixed Candy suit would be worth mentioning on the community. As most well know, suits take time, and often are paid for up front sometimes months (even a year+) in advance. Plus, we can't assume she paid. Just my personal two cents on that particular note.

I've never had artistic dealings with her, but she's been nothing but very nice and approachable. I know from personal experience it's easy to get backed up and mixed up, which is by no means an excuse, I just encourage contacting her.

Yeah, that suit was a crazy long time coming. I actually paid for it before I even met Rachel, lol. I gave the slot to her after I was so happy with my first suit from Mixed Candy. You might have to wait a while, but their suits are well worth it.

Ok, this is getting lammeh and I'm really dissapointed now, theres a lot of "she said he said" but so far seems the ones claiming foul are posting real screenshots and are providing evidence.
and I noticed something more troubling...Rachel? (aka booboobunny) seriously, getting into "crowd control" by bloking access accounts like (twitter.com) wont really help you much in your case; butfor sure are making people more suspicius of you.

I really really hope you're not transforming in to the next starfinder (who I gave her the benefit of doubt many times myself but then also dissapointed how she still didnt do her work).

? I have been planning on setting up my twitter to private for awhile... also this issue is over. No need to discuss it further, refunds have been issued, people in this entry have been contacted. I have opened a PUBLIC twitter for people who aren't close to me can follow. SORRY MAN, not sure what this issue is now.
