While there are only fuzzy details as to why this may have happened, the FA artist SukebePanda has vanished from the site completely (all art deleted, shouts and journals wiped when she left.) This was after a good bit of a hiatus from art, though still occasionally posting advertisements for her second life avatars for sale.

Of course, this isn't in and of itself a big deal, but she had at least several commissions in queue I know of (I don't know the actual number, but I can cite several cases including myself and friends, and I know there are more) that were never completed. I'm making this post mostly to a) make sure anyone else that had something lined up with her knows that she has disappeared, and b) to see if anyone still maintains regular contact with her and can at least get an answer if there will be refunds or if commissions will be finished, etc. Most of these commissions to my knowledge were taken on late last year, so the commissioners have been waiting a good bit already with no word on any progress at all.

Edit note: Artist has posted a journal inviting commissioners to be refunded if they so desire, and I have personally received a refund from her as well.

Apologies. I'd actually replied to someone I hadn't intended, and deleted it only to reply the way I'd intended, to the entry itself. The comment is still visible, and able to be replied to. However I will keep it in mind.

It might've had something to do with sexually explicit pictures she took of herself turning up on lulz.net yesterday.

I wondered if it might have something to do with that too, but then again she has actually been gone for a good while now. I don't know if she's cleared her gallery out recently or a few months back.

Hrm. Well just a thought, anyway. I know that would be enough to make a lot of people pack up shop.

Also sucks for the people who've paid for her services that are waiting over half a year on.

One of the rules of the internet is to not put up pictures ANYWHERE on it that you wouldn't want people coming across. Common sense, surely?

From what she told me, the pics were 9-10 years old.

I just spoke with her VERY BRIEFLY on SL and she said it was because of the Lulz drama.

She's not leaving forever (i don't think :o)

Perhaps that's why she bailed from FA etc, but it doesn't explain why for the last 6+ months she hasn't replied to her commissioners.

I honestly don't blame her.

As for the previous dissapearance since last year, it could just be life. I had that happen with someone I commissioned in the past. I essentially waited two and a half years before I finally just told the artist to refund me. The person had multiple raw deals and they just weren't in the shape to work on it. And no, I'm not naming the person.

Honestly I feel it's kinda quick to call scammer on this.

If you've been waiting on something you saw in-progress over eight months ago, that you've paid for, and that you've attempted to contact the artist about several times over the last few months... Then no, it's far from "kinda quick" to call scammer on this. Not that anyone's calling scammer, more a case that we'd either like our money back or the finished product.

Or at least that's what I'd like. Personally I'm a big enough man to just want one or the other, and if Sukebe is up to it an apology wouldn't go amiss either.

I have no issue with paying back commissioners. For people who know of the Lulz incident, I'd assume it would be a little obvious as to why I would have done that. For those who DONT know, well if you can imagine, posting a journal wouldn't only entice people to post links to mentioned incident, and that just keeps the ball rolling.

And because you seem to think that I put pictures out just anywhere, no I didn't. I stupidly gave them to someone 9 to 10 years ago who is a drama whore, always has and always will be, and because I didn't accept his Facebook friend add, he flipped out and decided to post them for everyone to see. That's what you get for associating with completely unstable people in your past.

So I flipped and deleted my stuff because I was pissed off all around.

You know my current living out of the country as well, things have been up and down with immigration, and I haven't drawn a lick of anything. I've been holding on to see if things would pick back up, but they haven't.

So I'm quite fine with paying any of my commissioners back for what work is owed, all they have to do is contact me and I'll reply. I'm able and willing to do so, I just hope people can see WHY I didn't put anything on my FA, because like I said..posting a journal would only bring in links to that thread. If only FA had a comment disabling system I could easily have posted a notice all around.

*PHEW* Anywho! That's that. TL:DR I'm sorry I'm a fat slob who's lost their interest to draw and thought I could get it back. If I owe you something, send me a new email and I'll be happy to get back to you asap. PEACE

>all they have to do is contact me

People have paid you for a service and the onus is on you to contact them in order to refund them. Indeed, assuming you've taken payment via paypal, you should be able to refund them I think, without having them have to contact you in the first place.

By requiring them to contact you, esp. since you've deleted everything on your FA account (inc. contact details!) and some people will therefore assume you've gone "underground", it puts an additional barrier in the way of people getting back their money and increases the possibility that they might give up, since many artists have vanished owning commissions in the past.

>I just hope people can see WHY I didn't put anything on my FA,

People can make shouts on your FA account page no matter what, so you could have simply left a shout with contact details on there and then deleted any shouts making reference to the drama and blocked the person making them if nesc. Although the onus should still be on you to contact your commissioners/pay them back in the first place IMO.

Indeed, I see that you've already recently (last day) logged into FA to delete all your shouts. you could have left a shout then.

Why would I post a shout on my page with my contact details, with my email public? :S I'll toss it up there, but we'll see how that goes.

In any case, people always could have contacted me. Most, do not. There are some who just never get back in contact with me after a commission.

My statement still stands.

If you keep any record of who commissioned you and for what/how much, you should be able to refund them right away. That you're refusing to so suggests that you're hoping to keep at least some of the money through making no pro-active effort to refund people and relying on the fact that you know some have just given up.

Ah, I just saw here:

http://community.livejournal.com/artists_beware/357724.html?thread=11560284#t11560284

That you've contacted a few of your commissioners, that's a good start and I hope you refund them all or come to some sort of arrangement or whatever. :)

Second Life, by far, it the all around best way of contacting.

I put a little informative shout onto my page, and I've already gone through and sent messages to a few of my commissioners via notes. I still use the same email, but it's a big flooded box, the flat out easiest way is to get a new email regarding the situation so I can handle it quickly.

I'm at my PC waiting, and able, to issue refunds. I'm just waiting on the other parties responses now.

You will be missed, honestly. Sorry that various idiots on the internet ruined your time here. Is there anywhere art-wise you still frequent? I imagine you don't want to make this public, but I figured I'd ask. :/ I was really pleased with that commission you did for me a while back. It took a while, but it was worth it.

Wouldn't that have made you 14 or 15 at the time? Sounds to me like lulz has child pornography posted and anyone in possession of or distributing the pictures is contributing, as well. Might want to address that aspect if you haven't already.

Yep! I've already discussed it with someone and the post as been removed, and the pictures banned as well. :)
