Commissioner issues - Resolved.

lolshelb/Greerwolf owes commissions to a few people (this includes myself commissioned them for $10, not a lot but still)  and has left her DA account and blocks her commissioners who are still expecting art from her on her FA account rather than just do the commissions or pay back those she took money from.

I doubt there is anything I can do to get my money back or any other action I can take (if there is please inform me) so I'm just wanting to warn others of this user so no one else will make the same mistake and commission her like I did.

Now the user, who I guess is on LJ (who knew) is now claiming she won't do the commission due to she dislikes me for personal reasons. Okay, someone pays you for something whether you like them or not either PAY THEM BACK or DO THE COMMISSION. Don't sit and whine to everyone because you got caught stealing money, and then got posted about on artists beware.

Editeditedit - Now artists has posted journal on FA about the commission which is more than $5. I screencapped the journal just in case it was deleted by user on FA.

I suspect that the "Hidden by Owner" comments are those of her commissioners asking her where she/their commission is.

I honestly wouldn't doubt it since she owed a few people things and only did like I think 2 of them out of all the ones she owed, and they were like from friends.

How long ago did you commission her? Did you pay with paypal and if yes have you filed a dispute? What's the link to her FA page? If you bring it up with the admins on FA you might be able to get her banned so she can't scam anyone else.

It was back in late July early June of 2009. Unfortunately I did not pay through pay pal because the person did not have an account. How do you go about posting it to the admins on FA?

Sad part is, there is worse commissioners out there who have not been posted about who steal hundreds of dollars and like vanish. Next time I am strictly only using paypal so I can have proof of transactions.

Both of you back off with the personal attacks. Take your drama elsewhere. Artists_Beware is for the warnings only. The entry itself is fine, and it is indeed not right to take money and run just because you don't like the person. But you can not call people a 'cunt' or throw around dirty personal laundry here.

Who else does she owe work to? Some proof of that would also be appreciated.

What did you pay her to do? How much did you pay her? (Since she says it was $5 and you say it was more) Do you have evidence of having paid her? When did you pay her?

Also the accusations she's making about you, do they have any basis? Have you caused issues? or is it a big misunderstanding/communication issue?

The info is long gone due to deletion of DA journals on her account (since she left the account).
As I have stated in previous comments, I paid her via snail mail with cash so all info on that is not traceable at all, which I will admitt is a dumb move on my part since sending someone cash is at your own risk and you just don't know with people anymore. As for the other commissioners I have no clue how they paid her... I was just told by the artists she could only accept cash so that is what I sent. I believe the commission was for two $5 commissions, and as I stated again in previous other replies I commissioned her in late July 09 early June 2009 which she was paid right at the time of commissioning.
As for her accusations, me and her did have a trouble past on DA which was when she was under her original account of crappydoodle. Then she moved to another account which is the one given (lolshelb) and since I wasn't blocked by her I thought I would send her a note to apologies for my childish behavior towards her under her older account (at the time we was both under each others blocked list with her older account of crappydoodle), then like a day or so later I got a reply from her and we sit aside the drama we both caused (yes it was not just me but her too, and she had caused drama with a lot of other artists on DA). I was happy she was friendly to me and well I do enjoy her art (hence why I commissioned her), I have even commented on a lot of her art which sadly have been disabled now since I liked her more sad emotional type art, but here is a link to comments made between me and her on one of her drawings http://comments.deviantart.com/1/111531123/972445256 which goes to show we didn't hate each other before and right after I have commissioned her, even my husband commented on her art, so really for her disliking of me now is very confusing to be honest because she never blocked me under her lolshelb account and last time I have spoken to her (which has been awhile now) she was nothing but nice to me and now all of a sudden since I asked for my commission or a refund she hates me once again which is okay because its not right to take someone's money and just run whether you dislike them or not, and still to this day I have nothing against her and still enjoy her art and hopes she continues to draw because she is actually rather talented, just a very poor commissioner.

Something I'm wondering about, sorry it's not related to the OP's stuff, more to what the artist is saying.

I know that if a commissioners trolls you, you have every right to cancel a commission. But, I'm pretty sure I've seen in some people's TOS, that they'll also NOT refund you.

I don't do that myself, but I also haven't had any problems. So is it not right for those artists to do that, and it's stealing?

I would consider that stealing. A TOS isn't a free pass to do whatever you want, and chances are if the commissioner took an artist with that in their TOS to court and had proper proof, the artist would be forced to refund. After all, it's not like you can put 'If you bug me, you give me express permission to murder you' and actually have it make it okay to do. I know stealing =/= murder, but it gets the point across.

If you don't want to deal with a commissioner anymore, refund them (minus work already done). No reason for people to try to make it complicated.

I always refund or partially refund if I'm dealing with someone who flips out during a commission. (Except in one case and that guy was seriously mentally unwell, claimed I owed him 4K that he'd supposedly spent trying to move over here to "be with me" and was generally stalkerish to the point where I had to get the cops involved).

Personally I think it isn't worth the hassle or the reputation ding if you've got someone that genuinely out to hassle you and don't even give them a partial refund, the only time they shouldn't get a refund is if the work is finished and already sent out.

It is stealing imho if you haven't done the work but still keep the money and cite a problematic customer as the reason for it. (only exception being if the customer has either disappeared for years leaving you holding the money forever or if they refuse to give you the info you need to refund them).

Can we get some words in from other people you say she is scamming? Some comments from them would be appreciated, if only to prove that you are not, in fact, trying to 'troll' this person.

Also, whether it's 5$ or 50$, it doesn't matter. GreerWolf's comment of how it being 'ONLY 5.00' annoy anyone else? If five dollars is such chump change then why bother offering commissions for that low in the first place? That's five dollars that could have bought a meal.
