How many excuses?

So I have a dilemma... I commissioned an artist (who's name I'm leaving out for now) something like a year ago (unfortunately after the FA note fiasco I don't have the exact date anymore) for a couples set of traditional stickers she was offering at the time for $25...

Since then, I've waited patiently- I've noted her a few times and gotten the "oh I've been busy" or "I lost them" and even "I don't want to work on traditional art." So she offered me something digital instead- not what I wanted but I was tired of waiting by that point...

SO 3 months ago I got the sketch- which is wonderful and I love it! But since then she has kept promising to finish it over the weekend or in the next few days etc.. Nothing. But she continued to offer new commissions and post new art (which really isn't a big deal- I get that) And now she has computer problems again, allegedly. I don't want to be a pain or anything... But I would really love to have my art... Especially since I already changed it into something she wanted to work on when she didn't feel like doing the stickers for me.

I know it's not as long as some people have waited- and I honestly don't know if I'm the only one who's waiting on this artist... I'm sorry if this isn't a great post, it's actually my first time posting here... And I'm not sure how to go about this without the evidence that my notes would have been great for...

you have already had to compromise and quiet frankly should be put first ahead of new work. I mean I know some artist don't work in order but a year of waiting while he/she constantly takes in new work AND finishes? that's ridiculous. write a note asking when you can you expect your work to be done. if that date has passed or there is no answer to the note drop their name here. That usually sets off a fire under em. As far as evidence goes, you may not have the note but if you paid via paypal proof of that transaction is still there.

Call me crazy but I think after the FA note fiasco she probably figured you didn't have any proof and wanted to see how far along she could string you. Doesn't seem too far-fetched and I know of a couple of people who would do something underhanded like that.

But yeah, as posted above, if you paid via Paypal or even a bank account transfer, you do have record of the purchase at least. You can use that as proof.

After reading up...I'm not sure why you're not naming the artist. They're giving you excuses, and making you wait while taking on new work. I think that's definitely enough to post their name here - otherwise whats to beware of?

As stated, use your paypal transaction as proof and note them again stating you have waited for your art long enough, it's time to finish or refund.

I agree with dazen_cobalt's comment completely. Since you're just asking us for advice, rather than reporting the artist for poor business, I'm (personally) not too worried about you not having hard evidence. If you had named her, but didn't have any proof to back it up, that'd be a whole other can of worms so take the time to gather your screenshots now in case this does turn into a warning.

At this point? You need to put your foot down and say "product or refund." Now you're just being strung along.
