[identity profile] puppetmaker40.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] artists_beware
We have a number of holidays coming up that are nice times to get gifts for friends and loved ones. We have Valentine’s Day in February, which I have to say getting an original valentine’s card was quite wonderful last year.

Here is the place to tell us of both the artists to throw our shekels to and the best of the best to hear from that they are throwing their shekels to us (that would be outstanding commissioners).

We ask that you give us a few lines of what made this such a great experience for you and why this person is so wonderful in your book. You can recommend say a fursuiting group or an artist enclave as well.

There are plenty of reasons to post someone here: perhaps they went above and beyond the call of duty to fix a problem, or were so prompt with communication and payment it was like having them right next to you, or were very professional and courteous every time you contacted them.

To help keep things organized, please follow this simple form:
Subject line: Name of person/company you recommend
1. Name of the person/company you recommend.
2. Link to their website or art page.
3. Approximate time period of when you did business with them.
4. Details (Here's where you tell us why they are so awesome! What made the transaction go so well? Perhaps link to the art or suit you bought/sold if you feel like sharing. Please mark NSFW if the subject matter is adult!!)

If you have multiple people to recommend, please put them in separate comments so everyone has their own spotlight.

So lets share the love and give props to those who truly deserve it.

1. Sonne

2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/sonne

3. On and off for quite some time. =)

4. Sonne is fast, friendly, and open to all sorts of themes and ideas! Her turn around is amazing! (mostly a few hours, or about a day from the time you pay) and her art work is just adorable. Sonne has super reasonable pricing, you can't beat it!

Here is the art I have gotten from her from newest to oldest:

I would strongly recommend Dragoon as a commissioner/art buyer.
You can find him here: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/dragoongurbux
The time span of this commission was very, very long. I don't remember the exact date he requested my work, but the commission spanned 2 or 3 months.

Dragoon commissioned me for an upcoming Con DVD project he was working on. This included 9 full body and fully shaded characters of the people he was attending the con with along with a fully drawn background for the DVD Menu.
All in all, this guy is just an amazing dude to work with. He was sooooo patient and understanding! I had lots of life issues come up unexpectedly during the span of me working on his project, and not once did he complain about how long I was taking, nor did he once ask for a refund even though I offered it to him.
I was constantly updating him on his commission status and he always seemed pleased with the outcome. He even took the time to explain exactly what he wanted, providing the right pictures, details, and small tutorials so I could understand the process better.

If there was a perfect commissioner in the world, it would have to be him.
Patient, understanding, and willing to understand an artist also has a life outside on their computer.
Definitely the epitome of a A+ commissioner! <33

(I hope this post wasn't for artists only! I feel commissioners need love too, especially when they're awesome as Dragoon was! :) )

3. A few days ago via Teenycom on LJ, art was received the next day, and was given a preview of the lines prior to ask for corrections.
4. Super fast, and really high quality work for such a low price, I wasn't expecting to get a sketch step at all.

4. I won an auction which was for a 2 character commission, I ended up asking for two single character pieces. There art was outstanding. Recieved the first picture within a week or so of the auction's end, and despite some computer problems on her end, the second was done early January.

4. Asked for a digital bookmark-type piece of artwork of one character. Chut was friendly and worked very quickly, and unlike previous artists actually read the reference sheet and included things I only typed but couldn't put in. Would definitely commission her again, and recommend her to others.

It was set up a while ago but she just finished the product yesterday. Her turnaround time can be a little slow.

4. Details

Her wonderful quality aside, she's in constant communication with her customers.

She doesn't work with a queue but instead works a little bit on any commissions and her own stuff. This keeps her work on a piece fresh so she doesn't just hurry the commission. It's an unique way to work, though it does slow her turnaround time.

She has a lot of different options available. Icons, pinups, flat colours, 2 colour and her prices are flexible.

Her style is unique and her colouring is amazing. She doesn't use brushes or filters as crutches and almost everything is done by tablet.

Occasionally she'll do livefeeds so others can watch her progress and methods.

My commission is here (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5168290). Safe For Work.

3. Mid December 2010 and ongoing!
4. This particular client contacted me in Mid-December and told me that he needed some artwork for an upcoming RPG forum. Very friendly and easy to work with. He seems very passionate about this forum he's working on, and gave me some good background information about it so I could have something to work from. I already have people contacting me and telling me that they are interested in the RPG forum, so I have a feeling it will take off!
Also, he is very quick to respond to my e-mails and equally quick to pay.

3. I have only commissioned her once, which was July of last year. Since then, I've remained in constant contact with her.

4. Nix is an incredibly flexible and friendly artist who's more than willing to keep in contact with her commissioners, as well as stream commissions upon request. She's very timely and puts her commissions first and foremost, and depending on the size/complexity of the commission, can have them done within a couple of days. Sketches can sometimes be completed in an hour or two while the commissioner watches.

3. I've had several commissions from her now. They've all been done within a reasonable time frame.
4. She has a huge range of styles and she's always a pleasure to work with. She's friendly, she keeps you informed of what's going on with your commission and she doesn't take offence if you ask for changes or make suggestions (during the sketch stage anyway :P)
Often streams smaller sketches and such which is cool.

Her are a couple of the pictures she's done for me.

4. I commissioned him to design a spaceship according to some loose specifications for an animation project I'm working on that has a tight deadline. Not only did he get it done within a couple of days, but the ship was absolutely spot-on on the first try! I expected to be paying for several iterations before I got what I wanted, but he did a fantastic job right from the beginning. I tipped him well for the work, and I definitely intend to commission him again. For anyone who's looking for an artist who specializes in vehicles and mechanical things, he's an excellent choice!

4. Although it was technically a donation I did to her, Mosa encouraged me to accept a commission, so I told her to surprise me and I am very pleased with the result. Mosa is very wonderful to work with, and always produces the piece by the due date she promises it by. She promised it would be done on the 31st, and that's when it was. I have commissioned her in the past, and she's always met the due dates and produced lovely work. I highly recommend her!

4. My friend showed interest in getting chain mail for a christmas present, so I immediately started looking for something unique that wasn't going to break the bank. Here's what I ended up getting for her: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5088934 The maker had even developed a smaller version of the same design during the time they were making my commission and said that they would re-work it if I liked the smaller one better for no additional charge. I was mostly very impressed with how quickly it was finished and the good craftsmanship. It fits her perfectly and I wouldn't hesitate to get more jewelry from them.
