Dison- Stealing money and blocking people

The user is known as Dison on Furaffinity and m-dison on Deviantart.

On October 23rd, this person made a half price sale for digital art after constantly dropping the prices, making it seem like they were desperate for money. 5 people purchased commissions on this day.

3 of these people are people I know, twlight05, chaoman16, and regisky.

And then the artist disappeared. No updates, journals, nothing.
At first I thought maybe something was wrong. But I noticed Dison faving things on FA. After I sent a note asking if everything was alright, Dison stopped favoriting images, disappearing again.
I discovered that Dison was actively posting things on DA, so I sent an inquiry as to their whereabouts on FA. Dison never responded to my note, but clearly read it (the yellow "not yet read" symbol was no longer there)
After this note was sent, Dison posted a journal on FA claiming to be back, but once again, went completely silent afterwords.
From this point, I and a few other users have sent notes regarding our commissions. For some reason, Dison only responded to one person and completely ignored the others. Any shouts made on their page about commissions were hidden. Proving again that they are clearly still actively there, but purposefully not doing anything.

This month, I tried one more time, begging to have my commission refunded because I was not comfortable with the content (it involved a character belonging to my ex) and that I was in a horrible financial situation. I sent this request as a note on DA and a shout on both the FA and DA userpage. My post was hidden, my note was never read, and Dison blocked my account.

My biggest concern right now is that Dison is still there, and likely still accepting commissions from people. Once payed, it seems dison ignores the buyer completely. The only reason twlight05 was responded to was because he had not yet fully payed for his commission.
There are people who still don't realize this person is a thief, and I would like something to at least be done about this.

I've noticed when people use rich text formatting their LJ-cut breaks more often than not. Maybe if there was a small note in the post about posting format reminding people to use the HTML tab when making an LJ-cut it would happen less often?

I would think it would be anything that doesn't support/gets wonky with HTML code, which is why I'm thinking they don't have the HTML tab on or don't have access to it.

Can you please tell me how? I looked in multiple places to make absolute sure I used the right code for putting a cut and I don't know why it's not working. I've done cuts before and never had this issue.

It looks like you might be using the wrong kind of bracket at the beginning of the code, a ‹ instead of a <. Try replacing that? Looks like that's the same problem at the end of the cut, too. Just replace all the brackets with < and >

I recognized the names and styles, and did some sleuthing. It looks like they have a history of doing this and using alts, check out shouts on these pages:

I'm not sure you can do anything on DA but if you contact anyone who commissioned any of the alts, get proof they all are the same person, and contact the FA staff and have them check IP addresses, they cant, at least, be blocked from making any future alts on FA.

I wouldn't confront them about it yet; They obviously have a history of running when it's brought up. Since that forum is a site they're active on, it could be a good place to get information from if those scammed decide to try and take action against Dison.

This. When an artist has a reputation of running at the first hint of trouble, direct confrontation is never a good plan. Reconnaissance is best here.

Dison is known as Saiyuu there. However, we'd rather there not be people joining for the sake of joining. Is there anything specific you'd want me to gather for information?

PS: Dison is also pretending to be the "wow commissioner" in the submissions of the dwarf, and the draenei, and so on. Apparently he didn't want to draw attention to the server, or that's his excuse. Point is, if it looks like he was doing commissions promptly for the "player from world of warcraft" that's because he was actually doing artwork for himself, which may give a wrong impression to future customers.


Also if there's ever a critique or problem he willfully ignores it, or shrugs it off, so I guess you're right about confrontation. He has also during this time managed to do sketches for himself, and even fulfilled an art trade with another player on CotH within a week or two-week span, so it's not like he doesn't have time for commissions.

I notice you paid with Paypal - I know it's past the 45 days they allow for a dispute, but have you spoken to them at all? If this artist is consistently doing this, and enough people make complaints to Paypal, I bet they're a whole lot more likely to do something about it than DA/FA. The art sites can (and do, in the case of DA) make the excuse that "well we're not responsible for what users do on our site", and users can account-hop and vanish easily.

I'd definitely contact FA about this, since the other posts mentioned that they've created alts and such. This is a pretty blatant example of thievery :/
