Lost Contact: Queen of Saiyans

I didn't even think of asking about this on here until now. Anyway, queen-of-saiyans.deviantart.com/ commissioned me for a Persian plush. It took me about 1.5 months to get to her commission since I had taken on a bit too many (I've finished all outstanding transactions by now) and they decided to take payment plans for their plush. I've tried noting them and emailing them (or the paypal email I had), but neither leads to anything. I know they haven't been on DA for a month now. I only have 30 dollars from them and they still owe me like 100 dollars. I ceased work on their plush until I can contact them (it just needs the head details).

So does anyone know anything about where I can contact this person? It did take me awhile to get to their plush due to my back log, so I'm not sure what happened in that time :c I haven't heard anything from them at all. Any help is greatly appreciated! I don't know if they're anywhere else on the net, either.

If I can't get hold of them, would it be too drastic to finish their plush and sell it off, then refund them their 30.00? For the record, I've been trying to get hold of them for about a month-ish or so now, but apart from their DA, I have NOTHING to go on :c Thanks for your time!

I say in the entry that I have tried that :C I know a lot of people don't use their paypal email as their main email. I could try again in case the other two got eaten, though :D

I don't know how to contact the person, but I'd like to say I don't think it's drastic for you to refund them and sell the plush, especially since the buyer won't be losing anything in the process. If you paid by PayPal I think you have a 45 day limit for a refund, after which the only way you can refund them is by initiating a transaction yourself. I'd like to note that PayPal often doesn't consider this a valid refund method in case of a dispute (speaking from personal experience, they didn't accept separate transactions as proof of refund), so if you opt to do this you want to make absolutely sure that it's explicitly stated in the transaction that it's a refund, what for, and include the ID/date of the original $30 transaction.

ah! Thanks for the help! The original transaction time has expired as it's been so long with me working on it and then trying to contact them. I'm going to try email again and see before I just do another transaction because of the troubles you said. I didn't even think of those.

No, you should be able to refund them at any point in time. The 45 day limit is only for opening a claim. ^^

Nope, there's a time limit for refunds. I've been denied the ability to refund transactions being disputed before because too much time had passed.

Whoops, updating this a little. The refund limit is 60 days, according to this paypal payment I am looking at right now. xD Still, better than 45 days. ;3

I'd say the refund is actually rather generous - many crafters require a non- refundable 25% deposit just in case of stuff like this. After all, I imagine you're out materials & it's harder to sell a refurbished plush for the price if the com?

But! If that's not in your TOS then that's less ideal.

I do have the deposit in my ToS, but I just feel bad since they were so sweet. And I know it won't sell for as much as commission. I guess I will just count my losses here. Thanks for the help!

Maybe keep the deposit, refund anything else, and then if they decide to finally get in contact with you, and still want the commission, don't make them put down another deposit?
