Seeing the previous post here, I've decided to update my own issue that I had with Kuro, as found here:

As of today, over 1 year since my initial A_B post, and 18 months since the trade I made with Kuro, I have still yet to receive anything from her.

Every once in a while, I would try to communicate with her, each time, the conversation dead-ended, if it began at all.

I have a few of these saved: (Take note, I changed my FA username this summer, so that is why there are two different names on this)

I note her, with a reintroduction, and explain my contact, it was read, but not responded to.



The problem I have now is what to do. I really only see three options to this:
1. Wait it out to see if anything comes.
2. Chalk it up as a loss (I really do not want to do this)
3. Ask for compensation (*note below)
*The problem with the third one is that I would not know what 'compensation' would be. When I was doing the writing, it would be either as a gift to friends (or for someone for something important) or as a trade. I never exchaned money in any of the cases, so I'd not think it'd be applicable after the fact, and given that it was never in writing.




Edit 1: Kuro has contacted me, about sending out something. I've asked for a preview, and will edit this again once things are sorted out.

Edit 1.5: We've exchanged notes, and I've provided my email. As of yet, I have yet to receive a preview of what she is planning on sending. She said that it would be sent out after she finished babysitting on the 31st. Here is the exchange of notes, her's being in yellow, mine in blue.

And it just keeps getting better and better. Her bewares are completely justified and I hope many people steer clear of doing any type of business with her in the future. I also hope she quits making excuses and actually pays back/gives whatever is owed to those that are still waiting.

How many others have waited a year for what they were owed? Is it their fault they haven't bugged her about it constantly? I mean, she can't be expected to be responsible enough to send payments or badges or art off in a timely manner unless she is constantly reminded about it! No, that would mean she would be a responsible person.

I just moved from a decently populated area (3k people, which was also 20mins from a town of about 150115 people) to an small town of 800 people and I -STILL- get to the post office. Rain, wind, snow, and no matter how lazy I feel. I just shipped out a tail and a tablet (Priority shipping, mind you) I guess I just don't see the big deal. :/

Also how can anything be closed for a month? We had that string of blizzards last year in the Midwest as well.. things closed for MAYBE half a day, but after that it was business as usual, oh, and the post office was STILL open and attempting to make deliveries.

Because honostly the people in the town I live in that run the city really arent that bright.

I wasnt even able to make it to work durning that time frame. Because it was honostly too dangerous to walk out the front door due to rather large snow drifts.

:/ Stop. Just FUCKING STOP with the excuses. Don't you have dinky little corner stores to go to for stamps? And if your local post office is so bad, why not look up other post offices. Thank GOD I live near downtown where there's already a post office at Yale if I didn't want to go to the one an hour away from me.

How about public transportation? I live in a city where the bus runs until time runs out. So whether it rains, snows, or the world coming to an end you'll always be able to catch a bus. If you say there's no buses, I'm gonna slap you. U_U I know you have Taxis/Cabs to freaking use! If you can blow money on more commissions, you can pay cab fares to get to a post office!

Actually No I dont have taxis. So that means you dont really know. the only place that sales stamps here is the post office and I have stamps. And really I will say there arent any buses because the only buses we have here are school buses. Sorry but my town really is that small. and the bigger towns are a bit out of reach to go to every day to the post office.

I wasnt making excuses until some of you decided to make comments on what I had told him in the notes.

The badge is finished, but has no lamination. If he wants me to send it that way I will, if not then I will laminate it for him. I was waiting on his response not yours.

And just so you all know you MAY think that I am this horrible person, but it really doesnt matter what any of you say. Its just your opinions about someone you will probably never even see in real life.

But lets face it. NONE of you can say that youve NEVER made excuses about something in your life and if you say you havent then you are lying, because chances are when you were little you did.

I live in a small town where the population isnt very big. We dont have buses or any of the luxury that a lot of you do simply because the city cant afford things like that. Hell we dont even have a Wal-Mart or any store like that here. This isnt an excuse its more of a description.

I can sympathize with living in a small town, I really can. As in my above comment, I've always lived in a town where the cow population was higher than the actual residential population. We had no traffic lights, no public transportation, and the only store we had was actually CONJOINED with the local post office, which is going to be closed down.

I don't know about where you live, but "freak blizzards" are a common thing in Western New York, and places are constantly being closed, people are sent home, etc. The thing is, even if you have to wait until the snow stops and the snow plows to get out and do their rounds, even if that takes a WEEK, as soon as the snow let up, sending out what you owed should have been done. I live where it snows sometimes 8 out of 12 months a year, and eventually the snow DOES go away.

And yes, everyone DOES make excuses, but when they're wrong about something, people usually admit to it and when they realize that their excuses aren't making things better they stop. Which is basically what people here are asking you to do. They're not asking you to do anything other than what you said you would do over a year ago- send out what you owe the OP.

I understand that being posted here is something that's both probably scary, infuriating, and perhaps even a little embarrassing. I get that, I really do. But the best thing you can do now is send out what you owe, admit that you were wrong (which you have, so good on you for that!) and stop being so defensive.

Personally, I don't think you're a horrible person. I think you're very irresponsible and should take a better look at how you spend your money and what you spend it on. I believe this discussion came up in one of the previous entries here about you. If you want to spend money, save up, set it aside, etc. If you don't want to be seen as a horrible, irresponsible, defensive person, just get your act together like everyone is asking, and things will eventually settle down. Remember- if you RESOLVE an issue here, it looks GOOD on your part. Dancing around it and avoiding it only makes people look at you and think that you have absolutely no intention on making things better.

And my last little tidbit of advice- Please, please, PLEASE stop saying and acting like you don't care what other people think about you or the situation. It really makes people not want to buy anything from you, trade with you, or even do commission work FOR you. This community is a lot bigger and has more members than you might think, and word spreads in any community. If you want to continue to do business of ANY kind with people in the fandom (FA specifically), START CARING. Because I know that the members here care, and they may refuse to do business with you if you can't show that you're good on you word.

I guess what I don't understand is, if your post office is unreliable, and you're not working because you're about to have a baby, which means you can't afford gas to get to another post office, then why on earth would you agree to trades, or start running contests that require you to mail out money to people? Really, that's what people are having a hard time understanding. You know what the requirements are for what you're agreeing to, and you know that you're unable to meet those requirements. So why do any of it at all?

Because at that time I was working. I was able to get gas, but gas still isnt cheap. But I was able to get a bit here and there, but I worked overnight. but as I had stated before. I am going to have to just send it without it being laminated. its finished as are most others, but they arent laminated. so I was asking him if that was ok. I had to redo his a couple of times as well.

You know, I'm going to step up right now and call a great big "BULLSHIT" on Kuro's whole "There isn't anywhere to mail things from within 40 miles of where I live" sphiel.

She lists in her Livejournal profile that she lives in the town of Muskogee, Oklahoma. You can very easily go to USPS.com and go to their location locator and plug in that city, and find loads and loads of places that accept outgoing post.

Try it yourself, have a look. All of those places also sell stamps and packing material as well. And, oh look, Staples IS open on weekends. Hell, the post office in the NEXT TOWN OVER (Ft. Gibson) is only 6 Miles away. That sure is a short stretch from 40, huh?

Thats what it says because I dont want people to know where I actually live. I dont gie out my address to anyone, unless I have too for something. I am not that stupid. I live in Muskogee County, not the town of Muskogee. I live about 30 miles east of Muskogee. So before you say something like "Bullshit" Ask. There are a lot of people that live somewhere close to a town, but dont want to say exactly where they are from on their profiles so they use a differnet town.

I did at one point live in Muskogee but only for a bout a month or two. I am now back in my small home town.

Since she gave myself some "tracking number" for my winning contest payment, and she has promised to mail it tomorrow (Monday) I do hope she plans to "kill two birds with one stone" and mail yours off the same day. At least, that's what a responsible grown up would do.

Further: Digging through my notes, I know I mailed her MY contest piece to a P.O. box (with a 2010 census pop. of over 5k FYI). She has stated she has "moved" several times since then, BUT everyone knows that IF she wanted her art that I mailed TO HER PO box (back in May 2010), she would have had to traveled to the Post Office she rented to retrieve it. Interesting...

Again very sorry for your loss of time on account that this individual can't keep her priorities (and excuses) straight.

I just can't buy the "but I live in a small town." excuse. My first employer ran her net based business out of Vicksburg pa located in Buffalo Township PA (wiki actually has an article on it). Despite the low population (3k) we still had a freaking post office within 10 miles minimum. When the budget cuts came 1 was closed, not all of them. UPs and Fed Ex still serviced us.
Oh, and if the weather stopped us from coming in or killed the power we didn't sweat it because like all things it eventually stops. We never had people constantly emailing with "where's my stuff?" because it never took 18 months to ship anything ( if it did why even shop with us).
Heck I purchased a text from a seller in LA during hurricane Katrina and it was only a week late. It's not impossible if you actually try.

Holy freaking cow. After finding out where she lives, I can honestly say she is SO full of it talking about this blizzard. It lasted a week. WEEK. Thats counting snow lying there melting. I live on a county road from hell. Yes, my parents were trapped for 5 days (I was in college) but my parents live on a 13 story hill with an unpaved road. Muskogee, OK may not be the biggest town in the world, but dear god if I hear this blizzard nonsense I'll scream. I had the flu during it, yet on day 3 I managed to get my booty out of bed to get to a doctor. If I can do that, she can go to a post office. There's a 2 year college in that town. There's also a side campus in Warner. Heck, if she's 30 miles in my direction, Beggs post office is open 5 days a week with an hour break for lunch. If she's 30 miles in my direction, Beggs is 10 miles away. If not, she definitely has options, she's just too lazy to see what they are.

Ok first off. I am new to this whole Live Journal and Artist Beware thing, but I have been following this all day. And I got a Live Journal, because well for one I have been meaning to get one for years now, but never have til now and another I figured since everyone else was saying something I would too.

I am not trying to take sides and I am not trying to make enemys. Hell I just started an account over on Furaffinity and would like to keep it. I am not one for coming out of the woodwork and stating my opinions because to be completely honest I would just rather keep my mouth shut, but this. this is making me sick and here is why.

This girl you are posting about knows she has done something wrong, right? And dont say that she doesnt because I have been reading as its progressed. She has been trying to even tell all of you, yet you just ignore her, because you dont want to listen and just keep complaining about how wrong she has done these people, well you all say that she is whining and making excuses, but after reading all of this she really isnt the only one who is acting immature. Ignoring someone and just continuing to keep saying the "well she has done this to so and so" or "He did this too me" is also very immature of you as well.

I understand that you are trying to worn people about people being wrong, but there are better ways to do it then trying to destroy them. I mean honestly. Some of you have even probably had things happen to you before and had to sort it all out too have you not? People are people they arent machines. People make mistakes. Its human nature to do so, yet all you all care about is sitting here saying things about someone that really has not much to do with you and isnt hurting you in anyway. Sure she had made a mistake, but shes only human as are all of you.

I dont understand why all of you are going to try and tear her apart without even taking notice of what she has been trying to say. Like I said I have read all of it. Every comment from all of you. And I also noticed something else too. You say you are a good group of people, but really continuing on about someone like this isnt good. It shows how immature you all are. Kuro and I were/still are friends (While I'm very disappointed in you Kuro, doing something bad doesn't automatically mean I don't want to be friends). She was posted here a while ago before and I sat down with her to help her talk properly, get her act together, contact the OP and try to solve things. She told me she did those things but when I asked the OP, she hadn't done anything at all and things still aren't resolved.

I agree, some people are being really harsh, but it's mostly because of how she's speaking. She's giving attitude and saying she doesn't care. When it's pretty obvious she is. All people want is "I'm sorry that it came to this and I know it's my fault. I'll have it sent by x date and I'll keep you updated". Nothing more then that. But she's saying "I'm sorry, but it's not my fault because of x" even though it's still her fault after so much time. It were just a few months, we'd all be fine with it, because things do happen, and people totally get that! But when things happen you contact the person as soon as possible rather then leave them in the dark.

Reading only this post, I can see why it seems like we're yelling too much at her. The post right before this is where she's REALLY made herself look bad, this is just an odd on.

Maybe not helpful or pertinent to the topic but I just have to ask... if you're having THIS MUCH trouble being responsible with something like mail, should we be worried about that baby you say you're having? You can't backpedal or make excuses or ignore what you don't want to deal with when it comes to kids, you know.

I think it's time you stop being lazy and step up to the plate, be honest with yourself and everyone you've lied to, and deal with these extremely easy issues properly. Don't do it to appease others, do it for yourself. Man up.
