WHO: Vaermina last know as venigsun, ravenca, crowing, fourain, naraissus, mondeis and many other aliases

WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/vaermina/

WHAT:  I'm posting this because I think people/commissioners need to know they are back and either be on the look out (from the recent string of events) in-case they do the same again, or go chase down that commission owed. I myself didn't commission them but had a friend wait a long time just to be refunded a year later. This post is just to let people know she's back again and to finally  contact her at this new alias, and receive the commission they rightfully paid for.

PROOF: The journal they have posted on their profile, on the link given.

She should be contacting her commissioners herself instead of them chasing her down. That doesn't seem like her business practices have improved at all.

Edit: Ah, serves me right for trying to read things without my glasses on. So she is going to contact people. I sure hope she does and doesn't bail again.

Yep, I am contacting all commissioners, and I won't be bailing again. As a side note, I find it rather amusing that the people who are complaining about me are actually not commissioners but just random people, and my commissioners themselves don't seem to have a problem with me anymore lol.

Because they are appalled by your previous behavior, and that's why people are "complaining". Which is more like commenting and being skeptical, but considering you seemed to hop accounts so often, do you really blame them?

I really do hope you have learned as you said. Perhaps try seeing how this would look from an outsider's perspective and see how others can be making the comments they are. It doesn't make them silly at all.

Edit: Urg, I just realized how bleak and dreary my comment sounded. :x For the record, I am hoping for the best for you. You do have fab rendering skills and can make a killing if you can keep your business flying true.

It's good that they've returned to refund and finish commissions,
but I won't be suprised if they drop off again for some small reason

Well I, for one, am going to give the benefit of the doubt and believe that she is trying to improve. There are so many people who take the money and run and are never seen from/heard from again, so, this is already an improvement. :) Thank you for the update!

As far as I've seen, this is at least re-appear 3, but could be more.

To OP, thanks for letting us know. I would warn people against using her for anything, for reasons beyond her dissapear-reappear habits.

lol, this post did make me chuckle. What are the reasons beyong my disappear-reappear habits? If it's about the comic project, if I recall, you had been emailing my old account, after I'd specifically requested many times to email my new account, and thus I never got the emails. I was not at fault, you were, and you never paid me a cent, so there's no reason to complain.

BTW, the comment above was directed at Myenia, not sure who got it though (I'd also like to add that Myenia got the lineart from me anyway, even if it was never used or cleaned up, I still didn't get any money for it so I really don't know why she has a place here to complain).

This is not directly regarding the OP, so I will keep this as concise and professional as possible.

Putting aside the fact that we requested your preferred email and no other email was provided...you simply started using another (which we even sent you your own email back as proof when this issue came up last), I was primarily addressing the quality of your sketches versus your finished work. I'm not going to make accusations here as it is an inappropriate place, but the difference in quality from sketch to finished work, and between the faces and bodies is concerning. I think its clear what I mean by this.

I was secondarily addressing your unprofessional behavior. It does not matter if money was involved, it was a collaborative project where 12 other artists were directly relying on your involvement, and to which you provided significant, lasting delays that effect every other artist involved.

But if you're going to make the email the issue here, you did acknowledge the receipt of our emails during the project, replied to reminder emails during that time, and simply failed to deliver. Communication was never an issue. I hope you don't also blame your commissioners for emailing the "wrong" email when it is the email you provide as a contact point.

Forgot to add- the email sent giving you the previous page and your assignment was sent to both email addresses. We then received at least 4 emails from you in the few weeks between that and when you excused yourself from the project. Communication was never an issue.

I never once recall getting an email to my new address, even after I requested you change my preferred email about 2 or 3 times and you said that was fine.

As for the quality of my work, I was going through a massive art block at the time and burning out. Sure, it wasn't the best I could have done, but to "warn others" away from my art because of one piece of lineart isn't really fair. I'm over my art block now and my skills have improved greatly. This is no place for discussing such a thing, anyway. So I'll leave it at that.

You're welcome to actually check your email history- I am not going off of recallection. My criticism is not over your composition or creativity, but off of simple anatomy skills seen on multiple sketches, which should not be greatly effected by art block. An artist who does photorealistic work should have similarly represented anatomy skills. This is where my concern arises.

This is going a little too far into off-topic critique territory, so I'm freezing this here and requesting you two take this to PMs, as it seems rather personal anyway.

Thanks thornwolf, though I can see where everyone is coming from and I agree I acted very carelessly back then, it's nice to see somebody giving me another chance. I *have* changed for the better, it might just take some time for people to see :)

Didn't she leave furry forever or quit commissions forever or something?

Ah well. At least she'll give people a chance to get their money or product back.

It was definitely a rage quit of epic proportions. :X

I'm at least glad she's back where people can find her, though I myself am wary of commissioning her.

This, I can certainly agree with. I don't even recall why I quit in the first place, aside from having a stress meltdown. But I've grown up a lot since then, and I have steps in place for the future to prevent this sort of stress happening again (like not taking a million commissions at once! I'll be limiting myself to 2 art pieces at a time in the future). I'm actually rather shocked at how ridiculously childish I acted.

I'm really glad to read this. I'm not really involved in any way, admittedly.. I wasn't watching you, I didn't commission you, or anything like that, but it's nice to see you come along and admit you didn't handle things all that well and intend to shape up. All experiences are valuable things, even bad ones, as long as you make use of them.

I totally agree. I do honestly feel terrible for those I may have disappointed, as much as this was a big learning experience for me. As I've mentioned, commissioners have been contacted and refunds/artworks are still being given out. I am hoping for the best outcome for everyone caught up in this mess.

Unfortunately, all too often we see artists coming back saying "I'll make everything better" and it never happens. I've probably done it myself. I can't stress enough how much I've learnt from my mistakes, and I can say it won't happen again, though it might just take time for people to believe me. Anyway, I am working on getting my reputation as a "good" artist back :)

also her new name has a journal saying she is doing all old commissions first and is refunding as well just to contact her there. I think she is really trying to be honest and you should contact her if you need something.

Starfinder said the same thing a bunch of times and there were still people popping up saying she hasn't refunded them or delivered art. Maybe Venigsun HAS cleaned up her act, maybe she hasn't, but either way she should still be keeping in contact with her customers, not the other way around.

Date: 2011-12-13 09:31 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] violet-neko.livejournal.com
that is not fair. Starfinder was bad about it for years and was always taking new commissions while still owing old ones. Venigsun lost many emails and did post a journal saying who she was and that this was her new account and that she is not taking new commissions till the old ones are done. That is very not like star finder. (trust me star still owes me art). While Venigsun refunded me for the art I commissioned. I think we should watch and see if she finishes the old art and since she is trying to go about this the right way and be honest about it, we should give her a little slack.

From: [identity profile] marus-puppy.livejournal.com
According to both posts about Venigsun, she has done the disappearing act before and this time she has totally cut ties to her old account - she says as much in the journal that she no longer accesses it at all - so if she hasn't even put a shout on that page saying "hey, I'm over here now!" then, in my book, she's still not in the clear. The right way would have first of all been to keep track of the work she owes and then, failing that, to actively seek to rectify the situation. I don't feel that the journal post here and on her page do that.

From: [identity profile] littlesonne.livejournal.com
If I were going to totally cut ties, I wouldn't have said in bold writing in my new journal that I am formerly Venigsun. I will be linking accounts, I just haven't had time (it's been what, 5 days since I re-joined?).

To clarify, I no longer check comments or notes on my old account. I've got written on my page my email address, and have requested people email me if they need to and not to note/comment.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure this community is about commissions and not user accounts, so as far as commissions go, I've actually almost finished or refunded all of them. Those that are still waiting I've been in contact with.

Hi guys, it's me, Venigsun, just wanting to clear a few things up. I AM currently contacting all commissioners, but I simply said in my journal if people would like to clear things up faster, they're welcome to email me first. It's not like I'm saying "I wont finish your commission unless you email me. I'm too lazy to contact everyone". Also, because of my crappy business practices back then, there's a chance I could have missed writing down one or two commissioners. Yep, that's bad, I know.

I won't be dropping off the planet again and leaving without finishing commissions. That was never my intentions in the first place. Please don't go instantly assuming such a thing when you don't know the full story. My commissioners are aware of my time away and most of them never complained. Those who did, I've been in contact with since.

I know a lot of you think that my business practices haven't changed or I'll just do the same thing, but honestly, it just looks as though you're desperately trying to find something to snag me on. I'm above all the drama that happened last time, I'm over it, I'm not sure why people try to drag it out for so long. But I suppose nobody knows the full story, and it's human nature to believe the worst of a situation. It'll take a bit to prove myself, but I hope I'm given another chance.

I actually don't have that many commissions to finish - 4 or 5 at the most.

Anyway, I just wanted to clear things up. I had a good chuckle at the Starfinder likeness. Seriously, if I owed that much art/money, I would have died of guilt already :\ But yeah, I can see where people would see some sort of resemblance.

As for not linking to my last account, I joined less than a week ago, I haven't even had time to set up my page properly. But I will be linking eventually. Right now I'm more focused on finishing commissions than my actual FA page.

yeah you claim you've changed and you will get ANOTHER chance, lmao. All I have to say now/had to say in the past is, that this is NOT how business works (having studied business-law myself). Be glad that furries are good hearted and sweet, do what you did with clients in real live, they will sue your guts out of you or even take you to court where you'd end up in jail. Especially rage quits and such an unprofessional behavior is not acceptable and I find it pretty disgusting to be honest. I would never commission you nor advise anybody to do so, 2 chances were enough how many more do you demand..? Well we will see when the next bunch of people will start getting worried for their money being lost forever after buying time from you.
