This is an update of this:

http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/517601.html

She came back to FA about two weeks ago, claiming she had NO POSSIBLE way to get internet access for the past 5 months [even though its only been 4 months since her last submission] and she had been giving people shouts and favs that I saw throughout this whole time, so I honestly don't believe it. And even so, she could have found a way to get up with her PAYING customers.

Well, she FINALLY finished it, after I talked to her a few times asking her what was going on.

I basically commented on one of her submissions to get her attention to finish it, it was personal art which she had been posting ONLY personal art in the past two weeks since she came back. So I commented on her newest submission and asked why was she drawing personal art instead of working on commissions. She proceeded to be very rude to me and was coming up with excuses. I told her it was her JOB to do what she was paid for and if she spent all the time that she had been doing personal art[I counted about 6 pieces since shes been back] then she could have gotten it done by now.
The submission we talked on is still there but she has hidden all of our comments and I was not able to get a screencap before so but here it is: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7178207

Well she posted the submission of my commission a little bit later..

Submission: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7178585/
Screenshot in case she deletes it or changes the tags: http://oi43.tinypic.com/2czyrlu.jpg

She even wrote in the TAGS of the submission that it was rushed [in a very rude way]
I pretty much don't even want to use it now, she has left a HORRIBLE taste in my mouth and it makes me extremely weary to ever commission anyone I don't know again.

This artist is extremely unprofessional and I would NOT recommend commissioning them.

Since I cannot tell what transpired between you two since you hid the comments of them asking about the status of their commission, I can only gather that they only asked where it was - not that they demanded you do it right then and there. So rushing it to give Marble what they wanted is a slipshod excuse because a proper update and a follow through to pay the same attention to their piece as you to your others would most likely have sufficed for the moment.

Same with the refund, it is not uncommon for an artist to refund a customer when they choose to no longer work with them. They refund and more often than not sell off the piece after reworking it to something newer than originally done. So those hours of work would never be wasted if you recycled it properly.

And honestly, its not just the artwork itself, but the experience you created WITH it.

I gave her a 'proper update' the other two dozen times she asked. She kept asking, which is fine and all, but the way she went about it was not exactly pleasant. She also posted several passive-aggressive journals talking about how it couldn't be 'THAT hard' to finish it and was constantly telling me in a very condescending way that I shouldn't be doing personal art because she paid me and therefore this was my "J O B" (nice and spaced out and in all caps so I can understand it apparently). She made it very, VERY clear that she wanted it as soon as I could possibly make it. So I did. I don't see the issue with that.

You did ask for several updates.

Alright. Sorry. I was wrong. It wasn't my intention to "lie". I honestly could have sworn I had seen one several months back. Honest mistake; please don't accuse me of being a liar.

You commented on several of my pieces of art.
I know you made it clear that you wanted me to stop DOODLING. So I did. and now you're complaining because I coloured too fast.

There's a difference between "fast work" and "a rush job".

I know many people with a very rapid turnaround time and their art is not sloppy nor is there a decline in quality when compared to the rest of their gallery.

I'm honestly baffled that you apparently cannot see what is so wrong with putting out an inferior piece of work - one that had been waited 6 months for - and being snarky about it in the process. Does that really strike you as how a customer should be treated?

At this point there is no discussing anything any further with the artist, you've made a valid beware and you should let that do the talking for you now, rather than try to argue with Timitei anymore.

They're not complaining about the work, they're complaining about how you tagged the work and your attitude in general.

Which is STILL painfully evident.

The fact you can't see whats wrong with this situation is why you're up here on AB, twice.

Perhaps you need to stop taking commissions, you're too young to be taking on this kind of work if you can't handle it like a responsible adult. Besides, you're a minor and can't enter into any contracts. I'd stop and wait till you were 18 at this point.

I haven't accepted commissions in over half a year.

Good. I'd advise you not to in the future either. You really need to do some growing up because you can be considered a responsible adult to do freelance work.

It's directly on my profile. It's not like it was a secret.

I'm not condoning everything the artist did, but this is something where you need to look out for yourself. As it worked out, the age wasn't an issue this time, but if it is next time, there's not much you can do other than hope the artist pulls through.

I second Celarania. It is always a good job to inspect someone when you are going to put money on them. Especially on communities and things where their general age may not be apparent, or how they usually conduct business. If I'm browsing a place like Teenycom, I am going to try to check the artist out before I give them money. If I see any red flags, I am turning my butt the other way and leaving.
