Explain: Well in October I was recommended by a friend to check out her art which I did and I brought a commission from her at the time because she was open and had reasonable prices. In November I got tired of waiting and looked at her Commission Queue to my surprise my name wasn't there for a commission so I contacted her which went well and reasonable. So after a few days (again...) a new journal was posted saying she was taking new art and such. So then of course another journal posted about an art block. Later that week other people art was posted and still my name wasn't added to the queue. So I was fed up with it and filed a refund because I was tired of waiting and being ignored. So of course instead a well way to settle stuff in a mature manner I got a rage note saying "No I'm not refunding you your money its not my problem this was well hard earn money so don't give me the BS''. She made threats to me as well saying she was going to sue me.shown here  http://imageshack.us/f/545/incident5.jpg/ . Let me point out that I got no update on my art so I went to my bank who is set up with paypal and filed a dispute for my money back because I felt scammed and the fact my bank had a flag with her info . She later posted a journal calling me a rude uncalled for name and deleting it due to her getting raged at for speaking to her clients that way. Later along in the year she is posting pictures of stuff she buying and then writing journals later asking for money. This new year she has decided to start on people art but still has an attitude issue where is uses very rude language in her terms and commission queues. shown here (hhttp://imageshack.us/f/850/incident4.jpg/

She recently returned with pics of tattoos she has gotten along with a journal full of rage against those who were very unhappy with her taking too long and felt she used the commission money she owe to get the tattoos http://imageshack.us/f/268/rudeness.jpg/


This issue has been resolve. She has refunded my money so no need to comment here anymore.

It kind of gave me a headache reading her posts...especially that last journal. Her attitude comes off like her commissioners are all rich and tossing money around, and so don't deserve to be treated with respect. Like she's doing them a favour somehow, by taking the money and giving them nothing.

We all go through rough times, nobody has a perfect life. That doesn't excuse her taking people's money and treating them like that.

I'm sorry you had to go through this, this is exactly why i took her off my watchlist a few months back. Her attitude over everything, especially paying customers was appauling, and I just couldn't help but feel for those who kindheartedly helped her out when her "times were rough".

Of, and also... im sorry you had to wait this long. honestly I don't remember getting a commission from you :/ I really don't. Sometimes I forget and don't update my que. I can send you a refund ASAP plus a bit extra for your troubles. I really am sorry :(

Oh, and a last note.. the tablet and tattoos are gifts from my boyfriend. I didn't spend a dime on them, you can ask him yourself on FA. The last thing i spent money on was my $50 phonebill which i pay monthly.

I think, from reading the journals the OP screen capped, she means that the money she'd use to refund people is from a regular job ...? And she's spent the commission money on supplies for her rats and hamster (again from the screen capped journal).

I don't really get it either to be honest. :/
Though sadly it seems it's still not a generally given thing that you don't spend the money from commissions until the work is done so people seem to get themselves stuck when they spend the money and then take a long time to do the art and people ask for refunds.

However it is, beware well warranted and I certainly won't be commissioning this person. x__x

What bothers me the most is the way the artist is blaming their commissioners for wanting a refund when their art isn't delivered. It is not their hard earned money, it's the commissioner's. What they want to spend it on is their own damn business. I've never seen an artist feel so entitled to a commissioner's money when they aren't doing the work. The artist's financial situation is not their customer's business, let alone their responsibility!

I am glad that the artist seems receptive to change, but this beware is very valid, and I certainly wouldn't commission them for a very long time!

I don't understand the idea that this money could be separate than the money from her commissions. It all ends up in the same bank account, and even if it didn't, the artist is using the money from commissions as extra income for herself.
