April 10 Edit: A day after I initially sent in this post for mod approval, Aluminem actually contacted me with an inked copy of the commission. I asked for some changes, and was sent them fairly quickly. The commission is still not complete, but progress is happening! I'd say this has been PENDINGfor now since I finally got a reply and progress on the art.

April 11 Edit: Setting this back to pending, after a few comments suggested I shouldn't jump the gun on saying it's resolved when it isn't.

April 17 Edit: Alum is currently taking more new commissions and says those will be done by early next week:

Hello there everybody. This is actually my first post here and I hope it's worth even being mentioned. For the [past four months](screenshot), I've been trying to get in contact with AluminemSiren about a simple $20 Character Portrait I'd like to get from them. I paid them on the day I contacted them and Aluminem said they'd get me a sketch the next day, but that didn't happen. Time passed, and I actually forgot about it until a month or two later. I tracked them down on FA again and inquired about it, and then a general post appeared shortly after stating they were simply[procrastinating on the art for everybody.](screenshot)


I left comments there asking for the [status two months ago, then one month ago.](screenshot), and about [20 days ago from the time of this post](screenshot) , all of which have been unanswered. Someone else actually replied to my month-ago status saying they were also wanting to know the status of their commission as well, but they have since hidden the comment. Meanwhile, Aluminem has been actively talking to other people in their journals and shout pages.

During this time, Aluminem has taken [several] [new] [commissions] [while] [leaving] [o][t][h]er people like me on the [waiting list](screenshot of a few of the journals, but not all) (screenshot of waiting list). For example, Razorblitz asked for a commission [three months ago] and it's listed as "COMPLETE!!"(screenshot). kougatalbain is also above me on the waiting list even though I paid before them, as are a few others. I am not sure if that list is in 'to do' order but I've been placed at the very bottom.

Aluminemsiren won't give me the time of day and I'd really like to know if I'll ever see this commission from them. I very well know that life happens and [new jobs] really do take the energy out of you sometimes, but I feel there could have been time in this 3-4 month long gap to at least write me a reply. Judging by their [20+ commission list] and the amount of time I've been waiting it may be a very long time until I even see a sketch.

Woah, I have a commission pending with them as well. Granted mine was placed in January (so not as long) When I saw their journal about the new job I understood, (working does kill the artistic drive) however this has me a bit nervous now. A simply reply should be easy

Also, I'm hoping that you'll get your commission soon. I really like AluminemSiren's art and I'd be very disappointed to find out he's got poor work ethic. :/

You really shouldn't mark anything resolved until you get everything you paid for, but that's my opinion. Glad they are working on something though, good luck getting the finished piece.

I am inclined to agree with Ryun. Its never a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket, just because you got the sketch previewed.

When you have the completed work is best.

Oh geez I still have a pending commission from him as well (not a portrait, but a full commission from him) haven't paid for it yet because of he wanted to sketch it out first before payment. It's weird since I got a portrait before and he got it done in a few weeks. Glad to hear that he didn't forget about you and he's making progress :)

Perhaps this is irrelevant, but it seems he's been working on a game in his free time. Instead of doing commissions. Lets see, I'll put it as he put it, "I can do what I want." He also doesn't care that he's been posted here, because he says people will still like his art, so they will still flock to him and buy his stuff.

I tried to tell him if he's too busy to do commissions, or doesn't want to do them, refund the people who have paid and and drop the rest, but he apparently doesn't believe in that. He says he'll only refund people if they ask first. Which is silly imo. If you don't really have any intentions of doing the art, it's wrong not to refund those who have paid even if they didn't ask. So basically, I guess, he would be just keeping their money without putting out the product they paid for.

Granted you all you have is my word, but I was in the same room as him on a chatsite called Wolfhome. His user name on there is Orion. Sadly I left because I had to go to the grocery store, so I didn't get caps. I apologize.

I want to tell anyone that is a close friend with Joshua (like myself), he tends to reply to EVERYTHING serious with a "I do what I want" comment. It is joking. He has been giving people their art today, and has been working his butt off to show some progress today on his day off before he leaves on a trip.

Now, don't get me wrong. I understand waiting sucks. But a few of you that posted here - you haven't even paid, nor are you even listed at a commissioner. You are WAITLISTED. That does not mean you have a commission in progress. It means he will keep you in mind when he opens commissions again, if he does. Learn the difference.

Ichiko didn't get caps because she was being proven wrong about taking everything out of context and we were laughing about how this wasn't any of her business, by the way. Just clearing that up - I wouldn't have either if I was made to look like an idiot!

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. Don't put words in my mouth, I never said I didn't plan on doing my commissions. Yes, in my free time, I work both on the game you mentioned and my owed commissions.

We had a disagreement on my art policies and the reasoning of this A_B post, which turned into something bigger, and eventually lead you to post this on my A_B page out of ill-intentions. Pretty obvious with the whole "perhaps this is irrelevant but let me type up three paragraphs anyway" business. You're also pretty notorious for this kind of nonsense around Wolfhome.

I don't really get why you're trying to make me look like a bad guy just because me and you had a disagreement. Maybe I take a long time to do my commissions, but I'm nothing but nice to my customers, and when they ask for a refund, I don't hassle them or ignore them about it, and I give them their refund right away.

We here at A_B; members and mods alike then to ask for proof in cases like this because we tend to notice who has a genuine concern over who has a slightly possible case of sour grapes.

Just leaving my little bit of info on this whole thing. I paid him for a $25 portrait back in October when he originally opened them back up and I was on the list as the first few he was to do, paid him upfront and everything. Months went by and I saw he was continuing to take commissions because he apparently needed money for new glasses. And then he kept taking more and more and more.

Finally after I saw his journal on taking even more commissions I finally contacted him about it. I sent a note to him and got no response, so I sent something to him right in the journal and finally the next day I got a note from him with a quick little sketch in it. He also hid my comment in the journal after it.

But it appears he's been doing this to a lot of people. Even if it's not intentional people should know and be warned about this in the future.
