WHO: sixxmacabre

WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/sixxmacabre/

WHAT: Fursuit parts, a pair of custom hand paws

WHEN: Initial contact was on April 3rd 2012, payment made April 6th 2012

PROOF:
I contacted them through FA, I had been searching through pictures of people's fursuit work to find someone who's work I liked and found affordable. I saw a picture of the user's paws they had made and thought they where adorable (photo has been removed)

I sent a note on the 3rd of April, communication from that point was very smooth. They asked about my preferences and gave me a price.

I contacted them through e-mail to give personal information as I do not like using FA's note system for things like this. Communication here was smooth as well.

Ok so payment is sent. I have blacked out their name.

I start getting updates right away about progress. I'm excited and looking forward to seeing photos of my paws on the 10th as expected by the due date they gave me. I was a touch late giving them the hand measurements and that was indeed my fault. I had to run off and get my car fixed and then my friend drug me around with her kids. Not an excuse but yes this happened. I quickly gave them when I got back.

Due to my own error I was willing to wait longer for the hand paws, I did delay a bit so I understood that production time might be pushed back. I waited a few days before sending anything because I figured 5 extra days would make up for my delay.I was a little harsh but I was also very upset that they had not contacted me at all but had been active on their face book, tumblr and even their deviant art but they had not updated me at all. Much to my relief I did get a response saying that there had been storms in the Denver area and it had knocked out their power, oook but they where active online during that time, they could not update me? I let it go just happy to get a response, they said they would have them done that night on the 16th. Nothing.

18th rolls around so I send them an e-mail hoping they are ok

I also left a few shouts on their FA in case they did not check their e-mail

Ok so no communication, no anything. I call my father who works for the city of Lakewood in Colorado and closely with the City of Denver. It's his job to go out and make a record of any outages and damages done to the city so that proper safety is taken care of and that repairs are scheduled. He informed me that there is no weather related reason why this person could not contact me, there had been a few outages the previous month but none that should have lasted that long, this compells me to look for myself. I checked Winderground.com since they have older reports as well to find that while there had been a few spikes there was no reason why this person could not contact me for the past week or so since they said they would have them done.

After looking around for some activity I found a number of things that upset me. Things that showed the person had been around but ignoring my e-mails.

All screen caps taken today on the 27th. Dates are relative to mountain time.

This one was what really upset me. They had time to get on FA and try to commission someone for fursuit stuff but they didn't have time to contact me about my commission? This is what really lead to the opening of the PayPal dispute.

Most recent activity:

At this point the PayPal dispute had aready been opened, they have yet to respond to it.

PayPal dispute was opened April 25th 2012. There has been no responce to the dispute and they have been active since it was opened so they are not just away from the internet and if they where I would have appretiated an e-mail about it since I was expecting a product.

EXPLAIN: I got a head as part of a trade with another builder. I decided I was sick of having all of my suits made by me so I contacted a few other builders to make parts for it to go with this head. Sixxmacabre was commissioned to make the hand paws. Communication was smooth up untill money exchanged hands. Comunication tappered off to none at all and despite the user still being active on other sites, they have ignored any and all messages sent to them. If the paws had been compleated why havn't they just e-mailed me about it or something. A PayPal dispute was opened up on April 25th but has gone unanswered. In retrospect I should have looked at thier profile harder and been a bit more scruitanous about the way they describe themself, I dismissed it as angst but it seems I was wrong.

The builder set unrealistic goals for themself, missed 2 of thier own set deadlines and have stoped responding to any form of communication.  I have not seen any edvidence that they have even ordered materilals or started the project, no photos have been provided. At this point, I just want my money back.

Edit: 5/6/2012

I did a little more looking around because I realized that one of the suits they had as an example looked familiar, sure enough it had been created a year earlier by another person.

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7154251/

This threw me off, looking at the information I was very very confused. 2 people claimed to have made the suit one being a 19 year old girl and the other being a 24 year old man. I brought it up in a journal thinking maybe there had been some theft going on and I finally got a response from the person after a friend of theirs read it because they happened to be watching me, they contacted the builder and told them I was looking for a response.

Sixx showed up explaining that the girl was a former business partner, that they had mailed my hand paws and sent me refund that day. I have received neither (screen shot taken today) If I do not receive one or the other by the 14th I will escalate the claim to PayPal since the builder has had no contact with me since this date despite my sending an e-mail asking for an ETA or shipping information.

Err.
Hmm.

Some of your screencaps aren't working for me! Not sure if that's on your end or mine, so I'm sorry if I miss any information here!

On one hand, they did set their own deadline, and apparently did not meet it. I can understand you'd be upset about that, for sure.
The lack of communication is also disappointing.
I don't mean to belittle what's happening here at all when I say the following.

Do you think you were being a little excessive when you asked your father about the area? I don't know, I guess to me that seems... a little creepy.

I also feel like... maybe you sent one too many emails, posted one too many shouts? I can definitely understand the frustration with no communication whatsoever, but it'd only take a couple of emails and maybe one shout. I think I would have left it to maybe one a week, then send them a note / email / comment / whatever with a big bold

UPDATE ME OR I WILL FILE PAYPAL DISPUTE

in the header bar.

Like I said, yeah, lack of communication is awful, but I feel like you may have been a liiiiittle excessive on the pestering there.

That's just my personal opinion, though!

Eh, I have to disagree. She gave a few days for a response, and having been ignored tried again to get some confirmation of work done or not. Also, she simply tried to corroborate the power outage story, which seems to have been a lie (at the very least, it's not responsible for this kind of delay). I just went through a similar situation myself, and sometimes 'pestering' is the only way to get any response at all. Honestly, she shouldn't have been put in a position to have to 'pester' anyway.

Oh, I can certainly agree with that. Sorry if I came off rude or anything, I just. Hmm.
I guess we can just chalk it up to agree to disagree.

I don't think anything like "WOW YOU WERE RUDE" I just felt it might have been a liiittle overboard, but like I said, that's just me.

Yeah, I think it's a personal preference. I don't think you were rude, and I definitely think it varies by situation. It's just a shame, I know from experience Mushi is a great commissioner.

I don't think checking up if there was a genuine outage is at all creepy or weird. I can't imagine at all why someone would think so. Just my thoughts there.

I dunno, I guess it's just sort of an unsettling thought to me that someone would go that far. Personal taste, though!

It's kind of like the earthquake mentioned in an earlier post. If the person in question claimed an earthquake has make it impossible to complete something, resulting in no communication/lack of end product/etc -- wouldn't you want to know there was actually an earthquake?

If this were to somehow escalate to a legal claim, it would be well within the rights (and probably expected by any small claims judge) that the accuser know for sure that there wasn't any weather-inclined reason that the accused couldn't contact them.

Yeah, I can see that. Looking back on it, it makes sense now, I just can't shake this odd feeling. I guess the thought is just unsettling to me in general!

Thank you!

Also, looking back on my comment and the discussions I've had, I'll retract my statements about being excessive!

Hm. The screenshot that has the other person that worked on that fursuit isn't linked to a larger version. XD I kinda want to read it. :P
