potential threat?
Sep. 7th, 2006 07:05 pmthought this was the best place to put this.
This guy from aol by the sn of HamFan followed by an indeterminate amount of numbers- i'll update this when I get on my own laptop; military server doesn't allow access to Y!- keeps asking me for requests. I tell him I don't do requests, only commissions. He then asks what a commission is, i tell him, he says "o. k then" then a day later, he is asking for a request again, and the cycle ensues...if I ignore him he just spams my inbox...
Has anyone had experience with such aol member? What should I do? Even if I mark the mail as 'spam' it still ends up in my mail box, and he's sending IM's to my AIM name and y! im as well...

You should be able to find it via their website.

Date: 2006-09-08 12:13 am (UTC)He's stupid. And doesn't go away. It's easiest to just to ignore him and block him as you see his screen names.

Date: 2006-09-08 03:16 am (UTC)The next time he IM's you say, sure, for twenty five dollars.
His response will be, of course "But you said twenty?"
Oh, sorry. I meant thirty.
The next time "Do you do requests?"
Sure. For thirty five dollars...

Date: 2006-09-08 04:10 am (UTC)I don't know about Y!, but I can set my chat program so that only people on my buddy list can see when I am on line.
As for the email thing, I bet that there is a filter (like mentioned above) that you can fiddle around with.
Good luck,
