Hi, this is my first post. I'm a long time lurker though. ^_^; I'm posting this for a friend who doesn't use LJ.
Anyway, to the point...

A friend of mine (I'll be keeping out his name. We'll just call him Fox) recently requested a comission from a girl online. She accepted Fox's request and asked that he send the money before she started. (Alright, that's normal. I'd do that too)

So, she gets the money and then shortly afterward, she backs out of the comission and claims she can't get Fox's money back to him for a refund. She has all kinds of excuses for keeping the money and not being able to return it. Fox didn't even have a set time frame for this girl. (she later asks for his address to mail the money back, but neither of us are confident in her actually returning the money)

Fox sent me the conversation and it seems really shady. (Under a LJ cut for length)

starvixsf: ok IM here. Look, this is not a cheat, so dont make it sound like such. I am having RL problems, and cant complete the work. I did NOT anticipate for this to happen, and I did apologise

starvixsf: I will send you the full refund with a MO since its sitting in my bank account. I will add 2 dollars of my own because of what paypal took from me with the transfer. I can get it out to you tomorrow with no problem

starvixsf: I am also moving in janurary. I will not have the net for months after I move, so I would have no way to even be in contact if we do, in fact, move house. Paypal took 2 dollars from me as fees with the transfer..they always take fees and it sucks. It wouldnt be a bother if I had the money, but I dont. I havent worked in 3 years despite trying to get work constantly. I would have to borr
borrow money just to get the 2 bucks back =/ I didnt anticipate for this stuff to happen in RL. I can either refund you the full 47, finish the badge and send it with a refund for 30 for the other pic with it, or can try after the new year to finish and send both. Its whatever you want to do

My messanger is mainly for close friends and family. I dont even feel comofrtable talking right now, and prefer to keep this to e mail

Shes very ... how to put it ... Rude, crass and self contradictive all the time. Overly bragging about how good her art and fursuits are and how shes "sold every one of them" etc yet when I used to be friends with her she was always in massive drhama pity me mode / give me money so I can "survive" mode. Shes just... honestly one that needs to be avoided, and sadly from in passing since I severed ties with her she seems to not be any better if not worse in her buisness practices overall.

She also did use "Starvixen" as a handle in the past, so "starvixsf" also sounds like it's her.

And yeah, I'd advise against dealing with her, too. I once hosted a website for her for free, and I all I ever got was flak because she wasn't able to get things to work right. However, she insisted that since she had a computer-savvy boyfriend, the problem couldn't possibly on her side, and ultimately insulted me to the point where I simply gave her a certain amount of time to download her stuff again in case she needed to and then deleted her site later on.

I don't mind hosting stuff for free, and I don't even necessarily expect a "thank you" or anything like that, but I do expect to not be abused for it, at least. As far as I'm concerned, she's an entitlement bitch of the worst kind.

And... she's neurotic, that's all. She always means well, but she has a LOT of personal issues, and is just plain incapable of being professional.

I've never commissioned her, but I'm in rather regular contact with her, and she's just not a professional individual at all.

And that bit about how she doesn't know of any other artist who would talk about problems over IM is a bunch of balogna. Almost every artist I know will let customers IM them! Heck, that's the ONLY reason I have AIM, is because so many of my customers use it, all my friends are on MSN or Yahoo.

As it has been drawn to my attention that this post was a bit rude, and possibly inaccurate, I will amend it to say that I have no direct knowledge whatsoever of her business practices. She is a member of my fursuiting forum, and to my knowledge has done no business with anybody there, so I cannot speak for her professional behavior, only for her actions there, which are of a non-business nature, as it's a discussion forum, not a marketplace.

I got a sketch for him done and started inking it. RL problems happened, so I said I needed to refund. I sent the money 2 days ago. I have 3 witnesses at the bank who saw me get the MO, fill it out, stamp the envelope, and hand it directly to the post man who was right outside getting the mail at the time. Every few weeks seems pretty regular to me. I'd say, given the history of what you've posted there, that I'm quite justified in my conclusions. I don't know you all that well, but you've posted enough for me to have some idea of your characer.

you thrive off of drama. you always have. you get so "OMG OFFENDED", flip out, spout crap and then delete your journal. a day or 2 later, its undeleted and your back to normal. you do this ALL THE TIME. i can only assume someone started trolling you on a regular basis and you opted to change your journal to avoid them. but then after this OMG DRAMA...look, your account has been deleted once more, and im sure itll be back...yet again.

It seems you are always having "RL problems" by the look of it. It was stupid of you to take the commission in the first place if you knew you could not finish it. You shouldn't except commissions at all until you get your own angry-ass head together. Your job and money problems are your own fault, anyone can get a job, and you don't need to give your customers guilt trips.

You need to lay back and stop taking commissions until you pull yourself together, the end.

People here are not making false assumptions of you, they only are saying what they know of you because you have given them the information through your unprofessional and bitchy nature. If you don't like it than change your attitude.
