Subject: Artist Beware: Commissioner fr0stbit3 also known as Wyldfire

WHO: fr0stbit3 or Wyldfire

WHERE: Commission was taken via twitter and google docs. Communication was done through email.

WHAT: Wing-it Chibi Commission

WHEN: Initial commission form was completed 3/21, commission was completed 5/18, final changes to the image were completed 5/19
(should be noted that these are generally completed faster but I was envoled in a car accident)

PROOF: All screenshots and art will be posted below

EXPLAIN:

On 3/21 I took my 4th batch of chibi commissions, this being one of them. Commissioner provided their details and paid promptly. Commission cost $50.

Here is the screenshot of the commission form splashpage.

Please note the guidelines and the examples.

On 5/18 I emailed the completed commission to Fr0stbit3. Here is the response.

At this point I figured the commissioner was not as happy as they could have been, but I did the work as described and figured the commission complete. The commissioner agreed that he would take the commission as is. He seemed fine with it and then asked about me making changes. I let him know the cost of re-sketching, re-inking and re-coloring those areas to his specifications.

This is where communication went downhill. After I let him know the costs for changes he became frustrated with the cost and I explained that characters are simplified as part of the commission.

You can see in the screencaps that the commissioner continues to become more irate as time went on and I contiued to re-state my TOS. Finally, the emails came to a point where they were causing me stress and distracting me from work so rather than argue more, I went ahead and made the requested changes free of charge.

I enformed him of the TOS: http://imgur.com/IRswaqU
New email tread started: http://imgur.com/AL6UsjR
My email in return explaining my reasoning and letting him know to not commission me again: http://imgur.com/fXrHStv

The client then emailed me back with the image and circled all of the errors in the image.

Email about the errors: http://imgur.com/D1h7Jqo

The final commission I sent him with the requested changes: http://imgur.com/Vn6tQvZ

After this, there were a few more rude emails so I stopped responding.

Edited to fix a link

In the examples you posted the first has 3 toes on all 4 feet, but the other have 3 on the feet and 4 on the hands.
Also I have no way of knowing how many fingers and toes those characters are suppose to have, so that really doesn't tell me anything.

But in my case you decided it was ok to make this public instead of working with me like everyone else I commissioned has. You are the only person who ever demanded these extra charges. With the exception of maxxmissions who has a personal vendetta against me

Last time I tried emailing you, you either ignored me or posted to twitter. How do I know you won't do that? I guess I have nothing else to lose since within these past few days you managed to take almost everything from me in this furry community

It shouldn't have been an issue from the start. Yes I got upset about it but only because the price was on the high side. I am not saying it wasn't worth it, your art to me is worth it, but I was rather disappointed when I paid that amount for good quality art and I didn't get it. I showed the drawing to friends of mine and they all agreed it looked rather sloppy for what it was. This all could have been avoided if we kept this between us. Your tweets on the matter have caused many artists to blacklist me that I had on my bucket list to hopefully commission. This includes necrodrone13. And thr biggest one, ecmajor. He refunded my money because of what you posted and it devastated me. I don't have much in my life but this furry thing. Frankly it's all I have. I know it's a sad life but it's mine. I have been trying to be a better person and put my past behind me. All this situation did was bring back my past and just hurt my future. You really didn't get hurt from this but I sure did. Most of which is irreversible. This beware will never be removed and now I have it as a permanent reminder of what happened and it will hurt me if I ever decided to do commissions again. That's something that will never fix. I really admired your art skill. But this whole incident was a mistake. If I would have know it would have gone this far I would have just cut my loses and moved on.

Look, I can see this has become a huge mess. That was never my intention but I can be very stubborn... I've had a lot of bad experiences in the past and it's trained me to be aggressive. But this isn't helping anybody at this point and has done more harm than good so I realize that it's time to try to turn things around. So I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being stubborn, I'm sorry for calling names, I'm sorry for the journals and the comments. I felt justified in my feelings but that didn't give me a right to take things this far. I know that my reputation is hurt, but I want to try to rebuild it. Maybe in time some of you can forgive me. Maybe not, but even if not it's worth it to me to try to leave the past in the past and learn from my mistakes. Tojo, I'm sorry for letting things go this far. I appreciate your olive branch and I hope we can at least come to neutral terms on this as time goes on... One chibi picture isn't worth ruining my life over or worth eating up your time over. I'm sorry to the AB community for how I've been acting in the comments, I've been too defensive and too eager but I felt desperate. But from what I've come to realize, desperation begets disaster and that's no good for anybody. I appreciate those who defended me and I'm sorry for dragging you into this. For those who harbor negative or cautious feelings towards me, I hope that in time you can give me another chance to show that I'm not that person. There's a lot of my life ahead and I want to make it something worth enjoying for both myself and those I commission and get commissioned by. I'm open to advice on how I can improve as I go and I am grateful to everyone for their time invested either side, it shows that the community cares about its members and in time maybe I can find myself a worthwhile member of it.
