EDIT: Aurasoul's boyfriend sent me a refund. Assuming they don't try anything stupid to try to defraud me I'm going to consider the matter closed.
I commissioned a custom plush from Aurasoul on FA as a gift to a friend. Almost two years later, it has not been completed or sent and there is no evidence that it was ever started. Meanwhile, the "artist" has acted improperly, making vague and not so vague threats. In the journal cited below, the artist outright states that she will commit theft (keeping money spent without providing product) if people complain. The link to the actual journal is followed by a link to a screenshot archive in case the journal itself is removed.

She outright states that she will keep my money and then sell the product I ordered at auction.
This follows her intentionally getting herself banned on DA after people started to complain there, so she could not be contacted there. Do not ever commission this scammer.

I'd suggest reporting her to furbid if she does try to sell the plush on there, also reporting it to other bidding places if she tries to sell the plush elsewhere.
Hopefully the sites will remove her if she refuses to give customers their paid for plush and just tries to sell it for profit.

Treating a customer like that is absolutely disgusting, especially when the customer was trying to be as professional as possible.

Date: 2010-07-04 08:45 pm (UTC)I commissioned the highly-skilled, well-regarded fursuit maker, not knowing that he/she was already well in over their head with a commission list that he/she had not been attending to [I'm sure we've all been there.. there are so many things to get done that one ends up not doing any of them.] When I pressed for progress reports, the artist said there would be none; when I asked for progress photos, the artist accused me of harrassment; when I demanded a refund, *months* after the commission and after the artist made conflicting statements ["I started the suit, leave me alone and I'll finish it" and "I haven't had time to even start your suit, leave me alone and I'll finish it" in the same communication], the artist at first refused and sent his/her armed posse after me.
Amusingly, after explaining the situation, the armed posse went away and did not support the artist. What I did not know at the time -- and didn't until the situation was posted here -- is that there were a number of other commissioners in the same situation with the artist, and I began to get a surprising amount of responses from them saying that they, too, thought they were the only one.
The artist then agreed to a full refund, and would send what little work he/she had completed along with it.. oddly, this was about two days after I contacted the trade bureau of his/her country and the US ambassador to his/her country, but I'm sure that was a coincidence.
Then the next phase began. "I'm broke, I can't afford to refund you anything." This following the artist's [preplanned] move to a new different country than the one he/she lived in at the time. After negotiations, again after I contacted the trade bureau of the NEW country, the artist refunded me about 66% of the whole price and sent nothing else, not the "partially completed work" he/she originally agreed to nor even the materials he/she claimed to have purchased and were sitting around untouched.
So, my suggestion is to contact the appropriate German authority, possibly their trade bureau and the US ambassador to Germany's office. I don't know if my contacting them changed the situation -- the trade bureau reported they contacted the artist, while the artist denied this -- things certainly seemed to get moving quickly after that.
