:/ I found this photobucket with a massive amount of furry artist's works and already in just the first few pages, there's pictures:

by [livejournal.com profile] huskie666: 1,2

of [livejournal.com profile] silverfolfen by keihound: 1

by [livejournal.com profile] ailurophile: 1

by Golden Wolf:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,

by Kacey M: 1 2,3

I don't think the artists/owners were asked about this, so please take a moment to check this bucket if you're an artist. I'm tring to go through it right now, and to contact everyone who's stuff was taken...but I doubt I'll catch everything.

:/ best of luck

x-posted most everywhere I can think of that'll help with this.

EDIT: If you know any of these artists, please try to contact them! It's too big of a job for me to do alone, I must say (I have only contacted huskie, Tania Walker, and Mid so far). Thank you.

Maybe I can clarify? It's a civil law. You're choosing whether or not to take action on it. It's not a big deal to me. I don't see why it should be a big deal or why you should take action on it. I'm not even really arguing with you. You're welcome to your interpretation and you're welcome to control your art the way you want. I just don't think it should be made a big deal.

That's the mistake that some people have made with their own interpretations of my opinion. They think that just because I DEFEND the RIGHT for people to ask to take their work down, that I am actively encouraging them to do so. In this situation, I am NOT encouraging people to take the work down. As you said, it is pretty harmless. I believe that!

However. Principle. When you are talking law, yes, it is to be interpreted. However, there are some parts of law that are much clearer than others. And the wise artist does well by herself to educate herself on this law, which I have done.

I'm not interested in whether the artists themselves are interested in taking the work down. I'm interested in their being ABLE TO DO SO IF THEY CHOOSE, and making other people see that it's PERFECTLY WITHIN THEIR RIGHT TO DO SO, which some, obviously, did not know until this thread existed.

Thankfully, now some have been educated.

No, I agree. If they want to take it down, it's in their right to do so, sure. I wasn't trying to argue that. I don't think it's necessary, but again, it's not my business how people want to control their art.

I thought I said that throughout my posts, but I guess I wasn't clear -- whoops, wouldn't be the first time! Like I said in my first comment, I think if anything this would've been much better served with a 'hey, there's a lot of artwork in this photobucket, might want to check if you're there if you don't want to be.' IMHO it's a lot more appropriate to this situation than the witchhunt 'hoo boy, people's stuff was taken!' tone of the OP up there.

That's why I made my best attempt to be even-handed, to stick to the law (rather than opinion), and to say that I don't care what people choose to do as long as they juse know that they have the right to do it.

Awesome.
