EXPLAIN: I happened across this image while browsing, looking through her gallery, and the image itself, it's clearly traced. I commented as you can see above asking the artist to cite her source, and the image was replaced with the above overlay as 'proof' she didn't trace. This artist attempted to trace a photograph for monetary gain, and should be avoided.

Does anyone else feel like she made the original picture a bit smaller so that when she placed her art on top of it, it wouldn't correlate as much? o__O; I feel like if the photograph was scaled up in a few places, it would match up a bit more.

It looks like a photo from a bridal gown magazine. There's a lot of those out there.

It looks traced. The gown was done one size, then the body, a different size. The head looks very very funny when a trace is composed this way. This rough bit, the body proportions are off.

This CANNOT be the final product. This can be a rough trace sketch which the actual drawing is hand built from.

To be honest, whether it was 'directly traced' or 'heavily referenced' doesn't matter to me personally. It's very, very close, and the intent was the same; to copy a photo and then make money off of it.

Doesn't FA have a rule where you're supposed to cite your sources in cases like these?

For some reason sia died at the end... But if you watch as i was trying to size the picture together they were starting to match up in most areas other than the arms, again. No one can draw something the same way twice, but this was my process half-assed and again most of it lined up again :3

You can redraw it as many times as you like to 'prove' your process, however the fact remains you attempted to take a heavily referenced/traced image, make money off of it, and pass it off as original content versus admitting you referenced it and calling people who called you out 'cunts' and drama monglers, when in reality they weren't wanting someone to pay you for more or less tracing an image, that you still haven't admitted to, and I highly doubt you will any time soon.

P.s. What you're doing in that video, although not directly tracing, is still heavily referencing, and you should be citing your source regardless.

I recall this person for different drama (fursuit related scamming, I think copying as well but can't say for sure). It's a shame to see they haven't changed, just took on under a different name and medium to scam with.

I am sorry but this beware is really unnecessary. Because it is clearly not a trace. It looks heavily referenced at best. And as far as I am aware there is nothing against referencing, not even in FA's TOS. The TOS only mentions traced art/plagiarism.

When referencing something for a pose, etc. there is nothing against that. And the lines do not match up at all. There is a huge difference between referencing and tracing. This piece looks referenced, not traced. While it is obviously heavily referenced, it isn't traced.

Unless they haven't seen the evidence.

Either way, pretty shocked at the behaviour of them, it'd look a lot better to own up to it rather then blatantly deny the whole thing over and over.

I got the note on FA from the admin and the harassing isn't going to ever stop no matter how many times you ban them on LIVE JOURNAL. FA is it's own thing. Honestly, take down my A_B and the harassing will probably stop from new people. Okay I refferenced and everyone thinks I traced, I don't care anymore, but noting me telling me to kill myself is worse than what you call my "Bad behavior" for having emotions. I think the amount of detail in the dress vs. the amount of detail in everything else (like the face and especially the curtains/the way they fold) is kind of a dead giveaway.

A reference is when you use pieces of a photo to help you mold your own, not something to completely eyeball(if not traced.) Eyeballing AND tracing is not ok if you plan to sell it.

Call me a cynic, but I'm pretty sure that the 'hate' messages she's getting are from a sock puppet account belonging to her or one of her white knights, and are being sent purely to make her look like a victim. And to draw attention away from her tracing.

I mean no disrespect, but why were two users banned for saying they would report the group? And you banned the person this beware was about because "she was in too much of an emotional state?" That is not a reason to ban a user. She did nothing that went against the TOS of this group, or anything.

She came here to defend her argument, in which no one chose to believe her and still tried to accuse her of tracing. When she did the overlays, people tried to come back that she "still must have traced" without at least considering her side of the argument.

This is... just appalling. I am sorry. I understand if they breached some sort of rights. Harassment is not acceptable for anyone, but to ban them for simply "being too emotional" is no reason to ban them... FYI.

She heavily referenced at best, in which she did learn from her mistake. She did, and even reposted her submission with referencing that artwork. I agree with the comments that if you heavily reference/copy from something you need to give credit, and especially if it is a paid commission ask for permission from the original photographer/artist/etc. I agree with this. But she didn't trace. Though everyone seems insistent she is. She was posting on here to help resolve any issues with the tracing and lay them to rest.

So how is this bannable? Please enlighten me. Again I mean no disrespect, and while I do not know all went behind the scenes I see no reason to ban her, or Cani. And what threats did Cani do, might I ask? Aside from saying he would report the group.

I also did not see anyone calling anyone out. :I I am sorry, but I had to comment on this, because again I saw nothing going on that was wrong. I did not feel Cani needed to be suspended, and certainly not banned for saying he did not see anyone calling anyone out. I did not see it either. And again this is my opinion. Kayla can better elaborate on the threats that ultimately got both users banned (if she wishes), but Cani was originally suspended for continuing a topic that Xai, and later myself told him to drop. When we freeze something, it means that current conversation is absolutely over. It is not an invitation to continue it in a separate thread. Cani was given ample chance as can clearly be seen throughout this post. A suspension is not permanent, but Cani chose to make it so when he issued threats.

I made no threats whatsoever. I do not appreciate the slanderous statements, especially from the administration. It really says a lot for the illegitimacy of this group. Furthermore, victim shaming and accusations of faking harassment is absolutely disgusting. This has become nothing but a hateful trolling group and should be shut down for clear violations of LiveJournal's Terms of Service.
